Sound concept, but...

How do you get going? 4 Cremations and 5 RoLs = 2 out of 9 cards must be drawn before you can play anything else. Its also not just two arbitrary out of 9, but you'll need one of both at least. Plus, you'll need of of those golems. So this deck wouldn't work for me for the simple fact that I regularly draw 0/1 Pillars in a deck with 9+ Pillars - this deck would probably drive me crazy :P

You're right, that Rage potion looks a bit out of place. Replacing it by a Explosion is definately good. And that PA, it's pretty necessary to ensure that your fire shield is up against a Phoenix spammer (Explosions), and also helps against a Dark-Fractal deck (Steals).

The Thunderstorm/Conder deck is awesome, but I find it too situational. I wanted a deck that could also perform in a more general PvP environment...

I like this idea, although taking over the creatures ability seems a) too powerful and b) would introduce some incosistencies. Examples: Corrupted Phoenix, is killed, turns into Ash. Does Ash use now  :fire or  :darkness? Same with Pharao, Air Nymph? What about Passive abilities (Gemfinders, Brimstone Eaters,...)? So this has to be clarified.

Next, the quantum costs: How about changing it to 4+X :darkness (+depletes all  :darkness), where X is the summoning cost of the target creature? This way, it adapts itself to the creature power.

I don't see the point of using unupgraded Phoenixes, they're 7 quanta, which makes them not really a fast Immolation target. I would remove or upgrade the Phoenixes and replace them with a Crimson Dragon, a Firebolt and an Explosion.

Trio & Quartet / Anti-Fractal Concept (Fire/Earth)

So, with the recent rise of popularity of diverse Fractal decks (RoL/Hope, Pest, Phoenix, etc.), I pondered a bit how to best counter these decks... This is what I've come up with so far:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f2 5f2 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 77e 77i 77j 77j 77j 7dg 7dg 7dg 7dg 7dg 7dl 7dl 7do 7do 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dq 7dq 7dq 7dq 7dr 8pm

This deck tries to exploit two/three weaknesses of Fractal decks:

  • Dependency on Aether pillars: Most Fractal decks only have a limited amount of Aether pillars. An early earthquake will delay the Fractal if not prevent it altogether.
  • Weakness of Fractal creatues: RoL/Hope is completely useless against a fire shield, Pheonixes are seriously crippled by it, Pest/Eclipse will also die quickly with a firestorm. Two fire bucklers and firestorms ensure that you have some mass creature control ready when a fractal hits.
  • Speed: With Cremation and Lava Destroyers, this deck counts to the faster ones and may kill the opponent before a Fractal combo is played. Also, large bursts of quanta bypass the effectiveness of Pests to a degree.
This works quite well so far (tried it mainly in T50), however it faces some serious problem when shields are in play... However, there is also not really space for another 2/3 Explosions or Momentums. So, yeah, suggestions are welcome.

Really nice deck! Got all: denial, permanent and creature control. And do multiple Discords really stack up their scramble?

Rainbow Decks / Chaos Deja-Vus
« on: March 22, 2010, 06:36:11 pm »
Greetings Elements players!

Just wanted to share a really fun deck I end up toying around with in the trainer:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 5fb 5fb 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 74a 74a 7jv 7jv 7jv 7q1 7q1 7q1 7q1 7q1 7q1 7qb 7qb 7qb 7qb 7qb 8ps

Basic idea is that we buff our cute little Deja-Vus to a proper attack level, and then duplicate them. The trick is, that those 6 Novas will power all non-time cards, with just 2 Novas you can play 2x Chaos Power, Blessing and Momentum (~+10 attack) on turn one! The Precognitions lower the effective number of cards to 25, making it a pretty fast deck.

Obvious weakness is the lack of defense and creature control (Rewind time  :'(). However, if you time the Deja-Vus correctly (don't duplicate too late, you'll need the speed), it's surprisingly strong deck. I have just tested it against T50, and it performs quite well (around 80% winning rate)
