Trial Final Battle Results / Re: Phase 4 - Final Battle
« on: May 24, 2010, 06:47:41 am »
Oops... silly me. I posted this in the big Trials thread but not here. Anyways here is my writup.

Just want to thank Coinich for being a great Master of Death and we had a great battle. Here is my writeup of the matchup with my decks although i probably won't remember all of Coinich's decks. I won 5-3. Upped cards were even at 17. For this matchup i made 8 specific decks to try to beat him.

Round 1 (0-0)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52h 52h 710 713 713 713 713 713 713 71a 71a 71b 71b 80a 80a 80a 80a 80a 80aThis matchup was pretty close. Coinich played a fractal/recluse deck and it came down to my bonewall falling and losing on the last turn. If i had found my other bonewall i would have won this matchup. But seeing that this game didn't last that long i would have had to have been lucky to have found it.

Round 2 (0-1)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 718 718 718 718 718 718 71a 71a 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gkSo i tried to go to a creature control deck with my squids. Unfortunately i only was able to get out 1 squid the whole game and his fractal/recluses just overwhelmed me. I believe he played the same deck as round 1. At this point i was a bit discouraged.

Round 3 (0-2)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 5og 5og 5ol 5ol 713 713 713 713 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7n2 7n2 7n2 7n5 7n5This round to counteract the fractal i decided that i needed creature control and a shield. Coinich feeling that a change was coming to counter him decided to go to a gravity/death deck with condors and oty's with some bonewalls. Unfortunately for him i got out my fog shield pretty early (was irrelevant though) and an Eagle Eye. Basically he got stuck with two 0/2 oty's and a 1/2 condor on his field. He did have his arsenic out but it couldn't dmg and poison me fast enough.

Round 4 (1-2)
Code: [Select]
4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6u7 6u7 6u7 6u7 713 713 713 713 7n2 7n2So now i decided to take a chance and play my entropy deck in the hopes that i pulled an early discord which i did (2nd round). He was playing a fire deck but my early discord messed him up pretty badly. He managed to destroy two of my discords and get an oty out but since i never played a creature and i replaced my discords right away he died a slow death. He also never played a creature with damage probably due to him figuring i had antimatters and was saving them for a one turn kill. Orrr he just had bad quanta issues.

Round 5 (2-2)
Code: [Select]
52g 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52q 52q 52q 52q 52q 52q 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 7ai 7ai 7an 7an 7an 7n2 7n2 7n2 7n2 7n2
Now here i made an error in playing this deck. I tested this out earlier and being unupped i found it a bit too slow. Which is what it ended up as. Coinich played a darkness deck with steals/fractals/recluses with aether towers. I lost by 2 turns in this one.

Round 6 (2-3)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52h 52h 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 713 713 713 713 713 713 71a 71a 7t8 7t8I knew this round was important because if i lost this one i figured i was done. I won this one solely because i think Coinich messed up his deck trying to fix it. He mentioned he destabilized it and i believe him since all he ever did was play 2 recluses. My 1 devourer that made it out obviously did nothing to him quanta-wise and because he had a darkness mark i never played my shields.

Round 7 (3-3)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 713 713 713 713 718 718 718 718 718 718 71a 71a 808 808 80a 80a 80aI could feel another fractal deck coming so i decided to go with my stall deck. Coinich also made one crucial mistake in this matchup which cost him. Coinich once again played a darkness deck with fractals/recluses a steal and a nightfall. What probably saved my bacon this matchup was that i had a horrible draw and could not draw a bone tower. Because of this i had a bunch of aether towers out but with no bone tower he probably thought i was going fractal. When i finally played my bone tower he stole that tower. After that it was a phase shield chain with him having a full field of nightfalled recluses that couldn't do anything. I think i had one recluse out (that i TU'd) and i managed to poison him a little bit. I think the whole match i had no more then 1 bone tower out. If Coinich doesn't steal my bone tower he wins this match.

Round 8 (4-3)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52h 52h 52o 718 718 718 718 718 71a 71a 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q9 7q9 7q9 7q9 7q9And for our final match i used my final deck. I really didn't purposely try to use 8 different decks but i felt this deck was decent enough to win. Basically i rewound and poisoned and stalled to the victory. I was fortunate because i won this coin flip and i ended up winning on the last turn. Coinich played a life/death deck with recluses and feral bond and i believe fractal (Coinich loves fractal BTW). He did manage to get out a feral bond with 4-6 recluses out but it wasn't enough since i had a bit of poison on him and had a bone dragon out. Sundials were enough to stall him as my Arsenic continued to damage and poison.

Tough and very enjoyable matchup. I just want to thank Coinich again for his time as Master of Death and hope that i can live up to the title.

In brief, (and to avoid reiterating the reasons others have already stated), suffice it to say that this deck is quite awesome. :D

I would, however, appreciate it you compiled some statistics for the current version 1.22
Well i will give you my statistics but i am not going to input 300+ games. Basically it's really not what it used to be (59-62%) and a couple really bad streaks sunk my percentage.
Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u6 6u7 6u7 717 71b 744 74b 74b 77f 7am 7do 7do 7gp 7n3 7q5 7q5 7q8 7q9 7q9 7t9 80d 80h 80hThis is very similar to the deck i was using prior to 1.21 with me just adding a gravity tower so take it for what it's worth.

Record - 187-186
Winrate - 50.13%
Average Winrate - 50.15%
EM rate - 77.54%

Chaos L (17-13) Was 19-6 in v1.20 so definitely the slower speed has affected this deck.
Dark Mat (0-16)
Decay (3-5)
Destiny (12-0)
D. Glory (1-11)
Dream (3-5)
Elidnis (12-4)
Ferox (13-0) This is the one FG that i actually improved in percentage. Was 11-6 prior.
FQ (22-7)
Gemini (11-5)
Graviton (6-12) definitely tougher since he doesn't waste his Grav pulls anymore
Hermes (1-12)
Incarnate (13-2)
Miracle  (4-6) for some reason Miracle is not easy for me anymore.
Morte (11-3)
Neptune (10-1) my one loss came with an absolutely horrible draw
Obliter (4   -4)
Octane (7-11)
Osiris (4-8)
Paradox  (14-0)
Phoenix (2-9)
Rainbow (1-21)
Scorpio (9-7) was 23-9 with v1.20
Seism (7-14) this matchup was already quanta starved for me so definitely made sense to lose a bit of percentage in this one.

Anyhow those are my stats for 1.21+. Lately i've been using a Timebow and RoL deck but honestly i'm not exactly happy with any of them and all are pretty much running from the 50-55% range.

i get viral set 3/5 times and the rest are hope decks
I do find that i play viralset quite often. That's the one person i play virtually every time i hit the T50.

Tried it and it was good....though not the best deck for a mono fire. There are faster and more damaging fire decks out there....A reflective Shield would murder you  :life :light
Of course, but that's the bane of all fire lance decks. But in the T50 i have yet to see a Jade Shield or Mirror Shield.

To be fair to the timezone option, MrBlonde and I were on opposite sides of the continent...

lol, 2 hrs apart., I'm 17hrs in the future from you guys.
Well.. to be fair... 3 hours. But yeah... a 7 hour difference is a substantial amount of time.

:death :death :death Death Wants You :death :death :death
don't be scared
It's natural for you squishy alive people to not want Death. Don't let the other elements poison you with their arguements of, "we teh uberz" or "death is weak", pshhhhhhh, whatever. Those alive people they don't know they're just a bunch of vultures trying to plague you with their false propaganda. I mean c'mon, have you seen the flesh recluse? How cute is he, seriously?

Okay...I get it, i'm not the type of element you bring home to Mummy but deep down after Life gives up on you guess who won't? I'll always be here waiting for you.

So just remember Death comes to us all... u might as well join Death now.

I use terrokings pesty FG deck.
only lost twice outa about 100 times *not including farm*
Really? I tried using it and honestly does not seem that good for the T50. I went 4-2 with it (3 were farms though) and it seems very, very susceptible to bad draws. If i didn't play a farm in two of those games i most likely would have been 2-4 since in one i didn't draw a creature til turn 10 or 11 and the other draw was equally as bad.

Trio & Quartet / Re: Quantum Sponge
« on: May 20, 2010, 09:01:47 pm »
Doesn't upgraded Discord only cost 3?  That would indicate to me that you've got too much :entropy quanta floating around.  I'd suggest -2 Amethyst Towers, +2 Animate Weapons, and trade out two Chargers for Titans. :)
Upgraded Discords do just cost 3. Although the quanta is not needed having the 5 towers just allows you to get the Discord out earlier. With 3 towers it's more likely you get your discord out round 3-4 where it won't be as effective. But like you said you will end up with a ton of entropy quanta floating around later in the game.

Darkness / Re: New Card: Gargoyle
« on: May 20, 2010, 08:44:14 pm »
Well, the synergy is in the devour effects of the Scarabs that RTing the Mummy ultimately generates with the Boneyards/Walls of Death. I will admit Earth/Darkness gets more out of it than Time/Death did, because there was already existing synergies that worked well.
Unfortunately for death the synergy doesn't work because of the three different quantas needed to make it work. Hopefully something in the future will get implemented (something that generates gravity quanta perhaps) so that mummy's/pharaohs would be a viable duo-death deck.

And i think the upgrade to 7/3 is fine as well. Gargoyle is basically just an incentive to splash earth in your deck. Without earth it's just like other mid-range hitters in other decks with a little more cost.

Gargoyle
5/3, 5 :darkness - Mummy 5/3, 4 :death
7/3, 5 :darkness - Phase Recluse 7/2, 4 :aether

Issue Archive / Re: Poison not reflected by Emerald/Refective shild
« on: May 20, 2010, 07:14:57 pm »
If you have played the Emerald or Refective shild and your opponent plays the card poison you get poisoned. I my opinion "poison" is a spell like fire bold, icebold or drain life and should be reflected. But it isn't...
As i stated in another thread concerning this exact topic it would make puffer fish and arsenics considerably weaker. Since both of those cards do not "cast" spells you would have no way of not damaging yourself.

Darkness / Re: New Card: Gargoyle
« on: May 19, 2010, 11:31:33 pm »
excuse me, i don't get it so much.. isn't gargoyle 5/3 with only 5 of quantum +0/+20 a little bit too powerful? (in the picture it isn't upgraded too..)
it's true that armagio is 2/30, but i usually don't take armagio down 'cause killing it tooks too much (when it's possibile..)..
(the same goes for colossal dragon.. )
but armagio has only 2 in attack.. (with the same quantum cost) and colossal dragon quantum cost is high.
Honestly you can think of the gargoyle as death's 1 quanta more "mummy". They both are 5/3 unupped and both have other abilities that need different quanta. Like mentioned before this just increases the synergy with earth. With burrowed devourers and 5/23 gargoyles an unupped mono-darkness deck with earth mark doesn't seem so bad. I just wish mummy had this kind of synergy with death/time.
