Anyone thinking to put Nightmare with this, regardless of that whole tri element thing that'd be pretty nice. Just get a cheap, weak card and a shield.

The basic idea to stick your opponent with some Neurotoxin with a Dune Scorpion as soon as possible and lock them down while they die slowly.

    • Both Momentum and Improved Blessing used to give Dune Scorpions some attack.
    • No permanents except for Mirror Shields and Morning Glory.
    • Nightmare is usually used on your own RoLs.  Once they have Neurotoxin on them, if they have a handful of RoLs, they can either choose to cast them all (and increase their poison) or keep them in their hand (locking down their card drawing).
    • Depending on how much HP you have, you can choose to hold your Mirror Shield back until they empty their hand of Photons.  Once you drop the Mirror Shield, it nulifies them all.
    • Rewind in combination with Nightmare and Sundial can be chained together to lock down your opponent while they die from poison.
    • If they choose not to cast the RoLs, Morning Glory will finish the job.
    • Until they change the AI, the computer falls for it almost every time.

    Out-rushing a Fire Deck:

Funny game against a Fractal Hope Deck:

(The Animate Weapon is no longer in the deck.)

      Trio Version of Neurotoxin Nightmare

Here's the Trio Version of the same deck:

I haven't decided which one is better yet.

This one is less bottle-necked when it comes to Time Quanta, but you lose the Unstoppable.

        Notes
        • Weak against rush decks.  (Fast Decks)
        • Good against stall decks and rainbow decks.  (Slow Decks)

Since there are only 5 creatures in the deck you should replace the Feral Bond with another SoG.

          • Entropy Mark
          • Mindgates are the "??" cards.
          • Use your opponent's deck against themselves.
          • The new Mindgate card is an obvious addition for a new twist on Scaredgirl's "Adaptation aka Frack You!" (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5818.0.html) deck.
          • Lots of obvious weaknesses: Completely dependent on your opponent's deck's ability to be used against itself.  If there are immortal creatures and/or Quintessence-only creatures, it won't work.
          • In this deck, using Improved Steals to snag some early pillars is very useful.
          • The Fractals are important to make sure you have an edge on your opponent.  Sometimes the extra Mindgates will be stolen or destroyed.  And if you only have 1 in play it's really not that effective because unless they're playing rainbow, you're just using a weak version of their deck because of the pillar composition.  A well timed Fractal really swings it in your favor and puts it over the top.
          • Sometimes it takes a little while to get going.  The Shards and Antimatters are used to stall for time.
          • The Antimatters are also an example of defeating the mirror match.  If you use a Mindgate and grab a dragon, Antimatter makes it no contest.
          • I don't know if the Improved Miracle is worth it, but I like it.  It's mostly there to help with the stall.  There's just a point where the Mindgate tips the game in your favor.  Sometimes you need more time.

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Coccoon | Coccoon
          « on: August 11, 2010, 01:15:17 am »
sorry if i'm missing something...but this card seems almost useless. You use 2 cards of 2 different quanta types to create a creature from the list (which are all, besides ffq, pretty cheap creatures) randomly... so it's like a duo fate egg that requires 2 cards and can't produce nymphs or dragons...

also, spiders aren't insects and don't have anything to do with coccoons, insects come out of coccoons after time passes, so reversiing time would produce... a caterpillar?
          I agree.

The mummy kind of works because it's actually a decently costed card for it's stats.

Not only that, but "Reverse Time" is sending the mummy back from the dead.  Reverse Time on a insect should turn it into a coccoon, not the other way around.

Nice. So this card sort of 'mimics' the Mummy ability, except it turns into a varying bug creature of the sorts? I kind of like it - brings new synergy between Time and Life. :D

That said though, you should probably fix the following in your table before submitting this to the crucible ^^; :
-Fix your description in your Ability section of the table so that it matches the card image. "Coccoon: If targeted with reverse time, Coccoon turns into a random bug creature." (Remove 'Coccoon, as it's not even on the card. Also, fix the capitalization on the card description if possible)
-Change the card art or request permission from the artist. It's under strict copyright, I believe: http://www.zazzle.co.uk/mk/policy/user_agreement  (See Intellectual Property Policy on that page)
          -Spelling errors should be fixed... it's 'Cocoon', not 'Coccoon' ^^;;
-Remove the (elite) from your thread title, and space out the card names appropriately away from the divider symbol, '|'
It's correctly spelled Coccoon. Ask ANYONE.
That's weird.  It's spelled cocoon.  I had to look it up on dictionary.com just to make sure I'm not going crazy.  Even "Cocoon" the movie is spelled "cocoon."

General Discussion / Re: Fastest way to a LoBo?
          « on: August 10, 2010, 12:46:07 am »
I'm way past the quests unfortunetly. T50 seems to have less and less LoBos. Maybe I'm just getting unlucky. I'm looking to get about 3 of them for a new deck I'm working on so looks like I'm going to be grinding for awhile.
If you really want one you can't just play T50, you have to go to the T50 forum and request Lobos from the rare farms thread.  Then you usually need to wait until late at night before you grind.  Hopefully those people will set up the farms before they go to sleep.

          Tested in trainer:
          Fire Queen outdamaged me.
Destiny was down to five cards, and then outdamaged me.
Hermes easily outdamaged me (growing creatures and firelances)
          Divine Glory: survived easily.
Dream catcher: my shield didn't come (and if it would he may manage tod estroy it in time). But in good draw, this can be won...
Ferox: shield didn't come, he killed me.
Decay. I thought this would be easy, but he killed me with drain lives

          conclusion. not good.
          I don't think it's a FG deck.

If your opponent has a Mirror or Jade Shield your spells will bounce back on you.  If you take one of your own out, you can play the Lances on yourself and reflect them on your opponent.
That's not what I was getting at; I don't think Fire Lance decks carrying reflective shields is something you really have to worry about because it's comparatively rare.
It used to be very common.

Most decks used a Light Mark, 4-6 Upped Sundials, and 1 Mirror Shield.

A reflective shield (the unupped one, it only costs 1) in a firestall with a photon and immolation would mean that the firestaller could bounce the lance off him/herself, since spells are only reflected once.
How often do Fire Lance decks use reflective shields?
If your opponent has a Mirror or Jade Shield your spells will bounce back on you.  If you take one of your own out, you can play the Lances on yourself and reflect them on your opponent.

(Also, 10,000+ thread views.  Lol.  Maybe I should play more...?)

I agree, I dislike it too because they are the same.
It is no point to argue they are not EXACTLY the same.
Only different base on one card 'Wing" is too situational.
          It already "shoots arrows."

That was my point and it is worth pointing out.

Basically, I see this card as simply an alternative to gavel.
I think the same thing... and dislike. So this is a bow that dont shoot arrows? Let it have a skill like Eagles Eye, maybe just target the player with 2 damage for 1 quanta, (random or air, not sure), or do 1 damage to a creature for 0. The damage could be reduced, if we add a skill, but I think its more interesting than having a gavel copy.
It's not exactly the same.  It's a ranged weapon so it gets past Wings.  So it kind of does shoot arrows.
