Off-Topic Discussions / Blog of the Seeker

So... people in the know, know that I've been trying to find something to do that doesn't take up that much time.  And at any given time I'm probably working on some kind of blog or website.  I started a new one and I guess I'll find out how long I stick to it:

Blog of the Seeker (http://"")

It's based off of The Sword of Truth book series (which spawned the Legend of the Seeker television series).  I'm reading it all for the first time and I'm basically going through each chapter and riffing on it all.  If you read it, get to at least chapter 4 or 5 because that's when I finally settle on a format for each review.

I'd describe it more, but let's just say the author doesn't title his chapters and I decided to title them myself.  And chapter 8 is titled "My Manhood is Bigger Than Your Manhood" and chapter 13 is titled "The Seeker Discovers Girls."

(You get the idea.)

Can't wait.  Casting looks solid and the same for the production values.  I haven't read the books myself, but my brother has and told me a little about it.

Looks good.

Rainbow Decks / Re: MrSexington's "Rage Quit Deck"

I love this deck! I'm almost done making it all the way upgraded, but I think I'm going to stick in +1 eternity and +1 photon in the place of something permanently because it seems like everyone's got one these days. It just about makes me cry when I almost deck them out and then they pull out an Eternity+Enchant Artifact  :'(
This always comes up and I give the same answer.

Unless I'm wrong, if your opponent has an Eternity (+Protect) + Photon and you have a pair of your own, you still won't win the game.  You just won't lose.  The game will go on for infinity turns.  Eternity + Photon is check-mate for this deck.  If you add in those cards, you're just using up 2 slots that could be used for something else.

I haven't read the rest of the thread but... my first impression is that this card needs to have its cost doubled or tripled.  Yeah, it's that bad.

On paper this is a really cool card.

In practice, I equate it with counter spells, land destruction, and discard in MTG.  Not being able to play isn't fun.

(Rage Quit what...?  I don't know what you're talking about... But you know what I'm saying.)

It should just be WTF.

The "bow" stands for rainbow... unless I'm missing something.

What is the preferred cremeation fodder?
It looks like it could benefit from a Minor Phoenix or 2.

If anything, Zanz should just introduce new dragons with abilities.

Either way, leave the existing dragons alone.

What, no more amusing anecdotes? I miss the induced rancor...

Unfortunately, I'm currently shackled to my notes, books, laptop, and flashcards 12 hours a day, studying.

I haven't had too much time to play lately.  But with the little time that I did have, I've actually built this deck in the main game and I haven't won a single PvP game yet.  This deck can beat AI5 and T50, but not PvP.

I think this deck will only be viable with the introduction of a new card or two that has good synergy with the existing cards.  Whenever I lose, it always feels like I'm 1 or 2 (or 3) turns away from exploding and winning the game.

I actually got my 3rd Air Nymph yesterday.

No Antimatter in this?
Pretty good deck btw ;-)
Unfortunately, none of the cards from the "Alchemy Cycle" (that target creatures) are included:
  • Antimatter
  • Aflatoxin
  • Basilisk Blood
  • Adrenaline
  • Rage Potion
  • Luciferin
  • Liquid Shadow
  • Quintessence

Duo-Decks / Re: MrSexington's "Entropy Scorpions"

I played around with Time Mark a little and that version looks interesting.  I guess with 6 Antimatter, you can stall longer.

I still prefer the Entropy Mark because 2 Time Pendulums gives you the perfect set up for turn 2.

Entropy Mark + 2 Time Pendulum; Turn 2 = 4 :time and 1 :entropy
1 Dune Scorpion
1 Chaos Power
1 Rewind

*And if you get really lucky, you can even hit them with Neurotoxin on turn 1.

Time Mark + 2 Entropy Pendulum; Turn 2 = 1 :time and 4 :entropy
1 Rewind (?)

*Only on turn 3 would you get to started on the poison, giving them 1 more turn to empty their hand.
