Deck Help / Re: Merawder's Decks
« on: February 04, 2012, 01:01:22 am »
My two main problems with your decks are the following :
1) they seem untested, or at least don't have statistic evidence of being tested/good. This means that typical newbie comes, tries deck, and fails. We had decided a long time ago that wiki should be a concetrated ''cream'' of decks. I'd like them on forums, though. Deleting all your work, while possible, strikes me as completely idiotic.
2) I often come on wiki to moderate comments/posts. You might not notice it since you don't have moderation powers, but wading through your decks posted each time is quite a pain. The clutter is not visible if you're not using the understructure of wordpress.

If you feel that our arguments are not valid, please come to the chat (http://elementscommunity.org/chat/blab.php) or answer here.
I had no idea they added work for the mods  :-[ anybody who might have advice on my situation please look at this:

Creator here. Thank you drolly, if you've ever made something and put it out there you know how good it feels to hear from someone who likes it!  :D

I would like to make one thing clear to everyone before judgement is made on my decks. They are UNCATEGORIZED. That means they DON'T clutter the wiki, because they do not show up in any lists or directories, except on my personal page (which has been at the top of 'popular this week' consistently, since just a little bit after I created it in September). They do not appear in the 'decks' section, or anything.

I understand you want to clear the wiki of decks that aren't 'top notch,' but that is exactly why I made sure to uncategorize them. I heard about the cleanup, and did everything I could to get out of the way.
I'm almost done, I hope I get to finish it how I started it :)

I don't like it from a design stance. There would be no way for (the opponent) to ever be able to confirm if he actually played the card he drew or not other than the effect triggering. Keeping in mind that EtG is a card game it's probably a bad idea to design cards that do things you couldn't replicate in a real life card game.
First off, it would be easy to do this in a real card game.  It would just have the next card drawn be put into a different zone instead of into the hand (such as removed from game / exile in M:tG).  Second, it's perfectly fine for EtG to do things you can't do in real life card games, since being computer based is part of what makes it unique.  Exploring the possibilities of this medium should be encouraged in my opinion.  For example, you see relatively complex math with Catapult that wouldn't be done in cardboard card games.

That said, I don't think the card is good currently since it will do nothing a lot of the time, unless you play a Silence or rewind GotP first.
You can't really do lots of things in real life you can on the game such as FFQ/pharaoh creature spawning, mutants, chaos seed, and fate egg.

It has to lose infect, or SOMETHING! It is too overpowered as-is. There is no  :death card that doesn't need to die for creature control, and the balance of the game depends on that. I like the concept of it getting an attack equal to it's poison, it would have a cool synergy similar to the one voodoo dolls have with parasite.

What if instead of preventing any deaths, it was a creature that died instead of the next creature on your side to die. Or if it had a power similar to gravity pull where instead of attracting damage it attracts spells such as lightning and plague.
