This is an interesting deck for me, mainly because, I don't really use Butterfly' and Pandemoniums.

If I get my hands on some shards I'll give this a try. Looks to be a very nice concept.

Nice concept, good deck, but 12 shards are hard to come by for the newbie, and pros are farming T50 or FG's anyway... :P

That's actually not odd at all; a lot of RNG algorithms use a seed value to create a series of pseudo-random numbers, and the same seed will always produce the same series. The easiest way of getting a seed that you can reasonably assume will be unique is to take the system clock. That's why, if you write a simple program to generate a random number and run it really quickly (like multiple times per second), you'll get a lot of repeats.

I've always suspected it has to do with the random number generation that Zanz probably uses for things like the Oracle spins, FG selection, deck shuffling, etc. I've had enough strange draws and runs of the same FG 3-4 times in a row that I suspect the algorithm is bugged.
There are days when I'm farming AI3-4-5, that I get every opponent (at least) twice in a row (after playing the whole match ofc). I haven't played that many games yet (200-300), but I guess this doesn't support the "system clock" theory. :)

You really need either some defence (like shields), some permanent management (like eternity, explosion etc), or some creature control (lightning, rain of fire, firebolt, etc.).
Currently I would be surprised if this beats AI3 more than 40%

I'm a newb. :)

And I don't understand the concept behind this deck, the lava destroyer and the steam engine get quintessenced, the bloodsucker and the maxwells CC.

But why is this "better" than Scaredgirls "fallen druid+otyugh+firefly queen" combo? Is it faster, or more reliable, or something else?

(I see that the shields+shards have a huge advantage over sundials+bone walls+boneyards).

I love this deck, I guess if you tweak the darkness pillar/mark thing it becomes even more reliable.

I've found that it's better to use 3 Quintessences (and drop the Dimensional Shield), you want your "fallen druid+firefly queen+elite otyugh" to stay in game permanently.

I'm not a huge fan of rain of fire in this deck (it is situational at best, and if you are eating everything possible with your othughs anyway you don't need it), but thanks to the elite firefly queen you should have a lot of fire quanta, you might want to consider fire bolts etc.

On the other hand if you have a miracle or two, you might want to add them to your deck, with a normal firefly queen.

I second the graveyard-boneyard idea, you need the skeletons to put them back into your deck (with eternity) or to mutate them with your fallen druid, they shouldn't stay out long enough to make a difference.

Deck Help / Re: Suggestions on how to improve?
« on: August 10, 2010, 11:53:25 pm »
This deck needs boneyards above all, if you fail to draw one (and 2 out of 32 isn't much), you basically rely on your vultures to do the killing.
On the other hand, if your bone wall is stolen, your only protection are the Dimensional shields.

I'd replace 1-2 fractals with boneyards, and the dimensional shields with 1 bone wall, and taking out 1-2 aether pillars.

It's still the same concept, you have a smoother deck (30 cards) and you should animate more skeletons.

Deck Help / Re: What to do ?

My 2 cents on suggestions:

You could build a Mono Life deck, with 15 pillars, 6 horned frogs, 4 Adrenalin and 5 Cockatrice. It's good against Ai3-4, and it's a fun and fast agro deck (not much thinking involved, adrenaline your frogs and thats it). :)

You could build a Chrysaora+Poision Death+Water duo deck you have most of the cards already for this, I guess if you manage to build a good deck, you could beat Ai5.

You could try a Firefly deck, (Firefly Queen, rustler, White Dragon, Empathic Bond) which could beat Ai3 in an Elemental Mater way.

You could try an Aether/Darkness duo deck, with Lycanthropes, antimater, devourers, steal, vampiric weapon, minor vampires.

I guess any CC heavy deck or card management deck will beat this easily. Ai 4-5 too.

The concept is interesting tho. :) (Luciferin & hope in a rainbow deck).
