Round 4 / Re: (Water) Daguerreo 3 - 2 Sevs (Earth)
« on: November 05, 2011, 03:27:28 am »
I am thoroughly entertained by all of this Ice Mage stuff.  You guys make me laugh.  I still think we made the right call using this deck in this match, sometimes RNG is a troll.

We had a "math expert" do some work.  He says it was 8/9 bolts that froze.  If they were all 40% bolts, the chances of this happening would be 0.35%.  If they were 50% bolts (ie. 10-20 quanta) the chances of 8/9 hitting would be 1.75%....

*sadface*

Also, I say Dag for president, skip all of that other stuff.

Is there anything I can replace the air nymph with for the CCYB?
FFQ is always a decent option, but I don't believe it is nearly as effective for Plat.  In that case, I would consider dropping the heal for synergy reasons.

For those that prefer a tighter deck, I would drop the heal and purify, but I prefer a fatter deck and slightly lulzier draws to deal with some of the omegastalls and healing that are around right now.

Brilliant deck by team water.  I knew coming into war that you guys were a dangerous threat to earth and your hard work paid off.

That being said.... 7/8 bolts freezing a weapon makes me want to punch babies.

It's a bit clunky at times, but seems to be working great in Plat.

It appears as if Air made good use of Mitosis Staves here.
Glad to see someone made good use of them then :)

Turn 2 Fog in the last 3 games means RNG was biting back for the previous 2 wins over DD.  Good luck Team Air.  Glad to see a fellow Rainbro performing well.

Well played by both.  RNG is a huge part of this game, and I find it best after I lose to keep quiet for several hours, particularly when it was one I felt I had a deck advantage with and lost due to RNG.

Tough break GG, & Well played Morm.  Good luck to both.

I couldn't contain myself to make it this far through war without running a TADAbow variant...

Game 1:  I got 3 grabs out and a discord with no rainbow quanta through about the first 12 cards.  Terro had the damned if you do, damned if you don't choice of stealing discord.  Next turn, he mixed me up a time quanta and I drew a supernova to launch all 3 grabbies.  Terro countered by PUing a grab, LSing, then PUing again, but I had rewind + lightning in hand.  Things calmed down for me after that and I won a turn later.

Game 2:  No discord draw led to me playing plenty of quanta + lycan.  I drew and played discord the same turn I had 3 quanta.  He stole it a turn later, but I had drawn another.  This was the first game I drew EQs conveniently, and he was never able to catch up.

Game 3:  Repeat of game 2 pretty much.  I drew a bunch of quanta with 2 EQs and rewind.  I was able to stall a few turns and amass a grabby army and discord.  He stole a couple of discords again and I was able to BHole on the last turn for Elemental Mastery.

That Discord card is a pretty good one apparently...

Gg's Terro.  It seems so wrong that you have had to face earth two rounds in a row.  At least you did your team proud in the previous round, but thanks for not putting me to shame.  Gl to you and team darkness in the rest of war.

Procrastinate ALL the war matches!

Game 1a: Desync

Game 1b: Blew up his stuff & outrushed him.  5 pend start vs. 1 = win.  Elemental Mastery.

Game 2: 1 pend start for me = lose.  Tried to throw out an eternity late that got blown up.

Game 3: Decent draw for both.  I played an eternity midway that got bolted.  I thought this meant I would outrush w/o CC, but he beasted a perfect draw and won by 1 turn.

Game 4: I had no EQ and no Eternity so I knew I was just gonna be rushing.  2 upped grabbies came out turn 3, dragon came out turn 4.  Cruised to the win.
http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/381/wingame4.png
Game 5: Weird start for both.  I had a 2 pend start, but he had a 3 pillar start.  I think the normal strategy with my deck vs. his would be outrush and win, but I had no choice but to try and EQ turn 3 and slow down his dragons.  I had 2 eternities in hand so I felt good about this and it was my only shot to win.  He got way ahead early.  I played an eternity that got bolt frozen (3/3 during these matches btw, what are the odds?).  When it unfroze I got a chance to rewind a big steamer before he exploded the next turn.  By this time he had few quanta, no damage, and I had grabs ready to swarm everywhere.  I played my 2nd eternity and began the long road to an epic comeback.  I had 32 HP and he had around 80+ or something at this point, but the win was fairly sealed without any late-game heroics from his deck.

GG's Gillero, you really made me sweat, both with your deck and you + bogtro's tardiness!

Gl to team water.

From that screenshot it looks like the reality is that game 4 should be water's?  Or am I missing something as well.  I will also delete this post.
