Clarification Questions:
There are a several variations of each mono deck available, some would work against some others differently?  Do you mean all combinations of all cards?  I think only an automated test solution can figure something like that out.

Second, do you mean if they pitted against one another or which one is the most powerful in the game.  For Farming Purposes  :aether is the most used mono farming element that shows up.

But then, there are more questions is are we doing nymphs?  Are we including Shards? Upgraded or Unupgraded? Etc, etc...

The most powerful mono upgraded with nymphs?  My guess  :entropy :darkness :death :fire  would probably be the top third of them.

Don't tell Graviton Mercenary that...  Graviton Mercenary will stuff his Graviton Foot in the back of your throat.

I'm actually kind of confused...  I would like to see them too...  UTAlan and I were the only ones who posted results...  and according to both of us last time I looked through Sevs' deck had the highest win per hour rate which I thought was to be the winner not the highest win rate deck...  Unless I got confused somewhere along the way, nor to take away from ralouf's deck.

First, about that deck, the rules of the comp was not to replicate any of the other AI4 farmers, so, that's first...  there is another set publicly available on the forums too, click the link at the top of that posting to go to those, the mono aether was one example

Second, I tested that deck along with UTAlan, it was tested nearly 100 games, for that comp, so I know it works.

Third, a very similiar, upgraded version of that deck was also tested with a greater than 50% win rate against FG back at version 1.27, and is still a good farmer, so natural transition there and why I recommended it.

However, experience does have a significant effect in this game...  some decks are no brainers especially mono decks.  But, many others require experience to play right...  I had a post earlier about my own sloppiness with first playing with the instosis deck on the wiki.  I lost a lot of games to my own sloppy playing.  Now, I am experienced enough to win a lot more games and stopped making mistakes and have nearly doubled my win rate.  It's probably the same here for you here.

UTAlan is very very experienced at this game, and I've been at it for a while myself.  Experience plays a strong part in farming, to edge out many would be losses.  So knowing what the AI will destroy first, or even if the AI has the capability to destroy a perm is important to trick the AI in attacking the redherring, or if you should even spend elementrum on something.   Timing, electrum count, card count, capabilities, etc, all important.  UTAlan has most definitely played many decks involving good fractal effects, while maintaining the right amount of aether to keep the  shield links alive.  I've played a few decks like that in the past as well, so those stats come from a source who has played that kind of deck before...  it'll probably start out a lot rougher for you.

Here was the winning deck with a greater that 50% win rate in the Unupped Competition:

Also there was just an unofficial competition on this forum on that very topic, go look there and you also know the win stats too...

General Discussion / Re: Do you like the idea of Shards?
« on: January 03, 2012, 03:37:15 am »
Shards as they are destroy a lot of the potential gameplay.
A good play design of strategy games like this say treat other or neutral abilities as accents or as an entirely distinct system.
Let's look at MtG a long time ago, to introduce a lot of the colorless cards they had the artifacts war...  Their wasn't just a few, there was enough to have many entirely colorless decks.  But really the abilities were significantly weak enough that they demanded the bulk of abilities came from the main mana sources.  They simply offered a weaker version of what another color of magic provided.
Shard's are cool, but at their power level you need the ability to significantly neutralize them.   The first couple shards, Shard of Gratitude, offered healing to all, Shard of Readiness didn't make time creatures supper powerful but assisted in duel elemental use card plays.   They weren't significantly overpowered, SoG could be in some cases, but largely they provided some abilities to others...  now if we are doing this shard war, their needs to be cards that significantly counter them too, until then this game is significantly out of balance.

Exactly, why it's not so much the deck, as it's when to play the deck...
It only works well about one day out of the week...  and only fully upgraded, and with 4 card adjustments... but when it does, it's a high EM yield, he asked how it might be possible I gave my solution:

Are there much better deck's to farm with, absolutely!  Is this deck outdated, as a FG Farmer, yep.  Is this deck well known, unoriginal, and famous yep.  But it still makes a great AI4 farmer, and my argument is:
There is one day out of a week on average that this famous deck shines again in platinum, it's the only deck I've got so far that has yielded me 4.5k gold wins.  It's done it for me several times now.   That's all.

Oh Shit...

But yeah mutation has it's down side, but I hate it when it just toys with you...
Once I was against Dream Catcher, I mutated the micro abomination with a butterfly effect, and it turned into a maxwell's demon with a 2 :entropy to steal...  I was like Really, Really? now the game is just toying with me.

The trick is less about the deck and more when to play the deck, you will notice deck's with a bunch of blackholes, accell/titan decks, speedbows, deck's that feature lots of steal...  they end up at the top...  and unfortunately, they are this deck's nightmare.  But you will notice most of these are up there for 6 or 7 days.  While everyone who was unfortunate to spin and get feral bond or something like that end up building out a toad deck, or they get weapon and they go for a weapon flying deck gets a few wins to stay at the middle round but they usually don't make it to the top.  Except on one day, when all those top rate bastards have to rebuild...  It is on that day this deck shines because for everything else, this deck kick's ass...  I'm not going to give you the exact build... except it's a 42 card fully upgraded version of this with a few smart replacements, I gave two of them already in an above post:

Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 52n 52n 52r 592 5c6 5c6 5f8 5oj 5ro 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5up 61t 621 621 6u6 74b 74b 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5
It's with this deck that I found you could win 4.5k when you beat a top10 deck with an EM, and I was confused, because the only times I did it was on three EM's in a row and in another thread I wondered if it was a bug, and I was corrected becuase it was just beating the top10 deck, not three EMs in a row that won me those 4.5k rounds...

It's nothing special like I said, been around a long time, it's more of when to play this deck.

EDIT: oh and don't upgrade the sundials...

EDIT 2: I just ran it now 10 games, 4 wins (3EM), 6 losses (Mostly Brutal),  Win Steak (2), now is clearly not the time to grind with this.

Some proof in attachment

Cool and I understand, I was just something to do outside of work and family and tossing it up there, it's an area I could help with that's all.
Good luck to zanz and his projects.

And yeah unless zanz wanted to restart the project to utilize the next wave of technologies like ajax/jos/html5/java services/postgres and recode it, it's really inefficient to do much else other than what he is currently doing.
