I probably should have said something earlier but I knew I might not have time these couple of weeks which is why I didn't take the initiative of creating new tournament topics. My fault for not saying anything but it wasn't a definite that I wouldn't be available.

Good thing is I will be free in 2 days time so I'll be available for the next few Eastern tournaments at least.

Also, Sg just stated that the winners will receive their codes. However, I read jmizzle7's topic in the private "Tournaments" folder, which had no reply so I thought nobody had given codes out yet. I then checked the codes topic and did not see anything being crossed out for the Eastern tournament this week so I actually sent a code to majofa (the first un-struckthrough one which begins "1K..."). Then I decided to check this topic and saw what Sg stated above. Therefore, I won't be giving out codes unless there is some confirmation that the top 4 still haven't received them. If they have already we need to know if they are indeed the first 4 out of the ones which are not crossed out. If not then we could have a problem.

Good games essence. I was more afraid of poison stall really but lobo would generally have worked well against my graviton firemasters and phoenixes.

Also I do believe your next match is against the loser of B which is MrBlonde or Gl1tch. I think Xinef pulled out.

Jumbalumba 2 - 0 Essence

Essence went the same deck both times relying on lobo to shut down my momentum and I guess shield to stop my creatures for half the time. Problem was he never got his shield out.

I was afraid of freeze mostly so both my decks had a good amount of creatures (well 11/12). First was Graviton Firemaster and Phoenix. Second was Chargers and Titans.

I know Water wouldn't really do on it's own so both decks had a good amount of Black Holes.

Trial of Gravity / Re: Phase 2 - Community Vote
« on: August 11, 2010, 08:42:53 am »
This may be odd but I personally would like for the public to vote for persons other than myself. I do still wish to keep the integrity of the Trials so I will still compete in the final round or whatever else is necessary but I just do not feel I should be worthy of too many votes.

Gravity is a great element. A lot of my liking for it has been based on how unfashionable it is. It doesn't have the great power of Fire or the many things Entropy can do but it is still great in its own way which I feel many people don't give enough credit to. However, I am a busy individual and I also feel I cannot give enough credit to Gravity in terms of events and other things. That's why I feel others should get more votes than me. I will not stand down though because if I am able to win in the final battle even with the disadvantages I rack up then the candidate is not worthy of this role.

@ Wardead: I am not confident of retaining my title to be honest mainly because of my points disadvantage. I felt PhantomFox only lost last time because of the lack of upgraded cards he had so he couldn't get as much variety with his decks and change things up. This time should be different. girlsgeneration has also been very active and will be a worthy competitor as well. Not really sure about the others.

Ah, very terrible on my part. I've been out of the loop with Elements and the forums basically since towards the end of the war and only really found time to organise tournaments and even then I had to pop out on occasion and required help from others. I knew there were Trials but for some reason I thought this stage didn't pertain to me.

Anyways considering lack of time (which is very much needed to test decks and beat FGs; create cards; write 1500 words), no creative flair and no readily available card ideas of my own, and the fact that Sg did provide that "Both the Master an a Challenger can skip this phase (and not get points) if he or she so chooses" I would have to take the option of skipping this phase.

Sorry to anyone who was looking forward to my contributions but I do like seeing what others have put up so far.

I'll allow Supernovas because it is faster and decks are smaller (so more people can compete).

I'll disallow Rustlers/Leaf Dragons.

I don't see the problem with Flood?

Thanks for the questions. I have changed the rules as per my intentions. As usual keep the questions coming because I don't always see/realise everything. :P

As for Supernova, it is disallowed as I don't want everybody going Entropy Mark. This is also why I have not banned Nova. Perhaps this will create an imbalance in favour of Time Mark based rainbows? What do you people think? I'm starting to think having Supernovas is good as it'll certainly curb the more stalling based rainbows and we all like shorter tournaments right? :P

Fate Eggs can indeed give creatures that give quanta but Fate Eggs have such low utility and expectancy for such an outcome that one cannot really make a non-rainbow from that.

It's not that hard looking at the elements to see that there is imbalance. We (Gravity) can try our best but it is nigh on impossible to match the strength of Fire, Entropy and Earth. It depends on the rules of course but the rules in War 1 did not give me any confidence that Gravity could win. However, I should probably say that it is not like I tried to get Gravity to come 6th. Of course I'd rather win but winning at something (or being close) is better than winning at nothing. I frankly don't think my thinking that Gravity will not win affected our performance in any way. It certainly did not play a part in how I approached the War.

I must admit I got Time and Water really wrong though.

Nevertheless, if I'm required to place my element as first despite what I really believe then I'll do so.

if fire wins:
hrmmm
:fire :entropy :earth :water :aether :death :air :gravity :time :life :light :darkness

Antagon
:fire :entropy :earth :aether :death :time :water :darkness :gravity :air :light :life

Jumbalumba
:fire :entropy :earth :water :death :gravity :darkness :light :life :aether :air :time

parrotparret
:fire :entropy :earth :darkness :aether :life :time :gravity :light :water :air :death

just realized that jumba put his own element in 6th place..... hmm...
That's exactly what I was going to say...
I'm a realist.

Well, congrats to all 4 of us but Antagon wins according to the looking-at-all-elements thing.
