Hey guys, I think I might need someone to play my round 2 match for me against melzaredum. We've been trying to work out a game, but it hasn't happened, as we keep missing each other. We were going to play at 10:00 AM today, but it didn't happen. If I haven't played by 1:00 PM Eastern Time today, could someone fill in for me. Thanks.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd think having more cards is more important then better players, but each team needs at least one good deck builder.

Well, I'm probably going to play my match within the hour. With a better deck, I'd be a lot more confident. I might be able to squeak a win out, though.

Sorry, I haven't been able to get on. I think you accidentally changed the mark of gravity in my deck to a mark of air. Can you fix that? I guess it will work, although I probably won't win.

I like it. Holy Lights kill early devourers, vamps, and dragons. Shockwaves are in simply because we don't have 6 holy lights. Hopes offer decent defense if they come out fast enough. Fireflies are for damage and to power hope. Dragons are the main source of damage. No permanents to steal.

I like it. It's simple, and beats a simple dark deck. Unfortunately, if dark gets a bit creative, I could see it losing. I'm going to go with it anyway, though.

Alright, I think this is going to be the deck I use. I'm still messing around with it though.

This deck beats dark almost every time. Holy Lights kill his creatures, Hope + 2 or 3 fireflies provides defense. Dragons are the main source of damage, + the fireflies. Shockwaves are in for extra creature control, although I'd prefer 2 more holy lights over them.

Hmmm, since I'm playing darkness, I think I'll try to do a deck that uses our holy lights. There's only 4 of them, though.

I'm thinking maybe -2 pillars, +2 shockwaves, but I'm not sure.

So what cards are we salvaging? In my opinion, we should take the 4 lobos finkel faced, and the 1 that I faced. This would allow us to build a flying lobo deck. I'm not sure what else to take from them. I'm also not sure what deck Unit faced, so I wouldn't know what cards to take from his game.

Woot! I won my game, putting us at 3-3. Not too bad for the first round.

Icybraker had to sub in this round for Wassd13, who hasn't been on in a while.

Here was my deck:

The strategy was pretty simple. Spam unstable gases, fog shields for defense, dragons for extra damage, and deflags to destroy any  permanents. It was pretty much the perfect counter for Icy's deck.

Icy played an aether/time deck, with phase shields, fractals, fate eggs, and at least one lobo.

Game 1: I lost the coin toss, but I got a dragon out quick. This game ended up being extremely close, as I think I had 3? HP left at the end. It was pretty simple. He evolved his eggs into pretty big creatures, while I spammed unstable gases. I deflagged a phase shield as well. I barely came out on top.

Game: This one wasn't very close. I lost the toss again, but I had a great hand. I got 4 unstable gases out early, and was able to kill his fate eggs before they evolved. I also had a fog shield, and had to deflag another phase shield. Finally, I drew a dragon to finish him off. He had a lobo out this game, but it didn't do anything, because my creatures were all dragons.

Great games Icy! You put up a great fight in that first one, and there was nothing you could do about my draw in the second one. I guess this proves all the air haters wrong.  :D 3-3 through the first round!
