Card Ideas and Art / Re: leaches

Backed down? Pester?

I think you are getting this whole thing wrong. This is not about backing down, which implies that you see this as some kind of competition. You put your idea out there (which is admirable), and people here give you feedback and constructive criticisms. Don't take this process so negatively. Instead, use people's feedback to your advantage and create/produce something even better.
That's what I do :)

Just an idea,

I kinda wonder if it would be even better to set different PvP sections based on the number of cards per deck. I know many great card games in which both users must use the preset number of cards per deck (e.g. both decks are 50 cards). This makes more sense to me as that would make the game-play more on equal ground.

If one is to design and use a stalling deck, it should be done so through skills and special card effects, not by having twice as many cards as your opponent, filled with virtually all stalling cards. That is not skillful.

So, just an example:

PvP3 = for decks with 30-40 cards
PvP4 = for decks with 40-50 cards
PvP5 = for decks with 50-60 cards

I know it's very unlikely, but I still wanted to share the idea. :)

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that. For the few times I left a game, I did send message to let them know that I was not trying to be rude.

I wish more people understood that they are playing with real people though. I can't tell you how many times people left the game with me. I even left my own winning games a number of times after my opponent left because I lost will/interest to play the game anymore (I really don't enjoy playing against computers).

Maybe we should add a counter on each player's profile for this to discourage people from quitting in PvP?

Time for some voting! I'd like to hear what everyone would want to see in Holy Avatar. Both Krathos and DSSCRA have a good point, so I added the poll to incorporate everyone's voices. Please let me know what you prefer by taking the poll. Thank you. :)

I like the idea and completely agree with Krathos. The unupped doesn't really make me wanna use it at all. If my opponent uses it, it won't affect me in any way. Upped is OP given that it only costs 2  :fire to use it. I'm guessing you can destroy a target permanent yourself to trigger the effect too right? So, that means you can damage all opponent's creatures and users for just 3  :fire (this card and explosion + tower, which doesn't cost anything).

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Puppet Master | Puppet Master

So,,, I'm big into semantics, stories, etc, and I can't seem to understand the logic behind why your card does what it does. As I understand voodoo magic doesn't have "copy" feature as its characteristics. When I read something like "puppet master," I don't get the idea of "copying" either. It screams "control" rather than "copy." I don't necessary think the ideas are bad, but I feel there could be more suitable names and images for what it does.

I must say I don't like this idea very much (no offense). Each element has its unique characteristics and related abilities/skills. One fits all series seems to break down that wall. Not to mention, as OldTrees already mentioned, devour is one of a unique advantage darkness users get. Why should they lose that advantage? There are pros and cons in choosing different elements in this game, and that's what makes this game a better strategic game.

Forum News and Announcements / Re: Karma system 2.0 installed!
« on: February 14, 2011, 02:44:15 am »
I must say I have a funny feeling about the choice of the word, Karma.

First of all, Karma is a religious and cultural concept in India. Is it really something we should use so lightly?

Second, the word Karma implies that there is clear judgment on what is good or bad. But, given the nature of how Karma system works on this forum, it is a subjective system and does not really live up to what the word Karma means. Karma is not something a human being can give but rather determined by divine superior power.

Just a thought.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your account.
Just out of curiosity, while you were gone, were you playing some other game? I'm always looking for a fun game to play :)

English isn't my first language either, friend. :)

One thing I didn't know for a while: You can actually change your Element in the deck edit screen. For the longest time, I thought I was stuck with the initial element I chose at the beginning. This is something I wished I had known, so just letting you know in case you weren't aware like I was.

I personally sell cards I don't need, but it's just my style. I've regretted selling some cards too, so it's a double-edged sword. Nevertheless, that's a faster way to make a good deck that can win. Sell cards > upgrade essential cards for making a formidable deck. I'd also use elements wiki to study cards you don't yet have. That way, you'll know which cards you may want to keep for future use with other cards.

Hi.

I'm rather new as well, but one thing that I found helpful was the trainer. You can use any cards to test out ideas and combos. I didn't know about it until rather late, but maybe you'll find it useful.
