Honestly this seems like a pointless card
who wants to attack their own monsters?

You don't have to attack your own monsters, its just a method to power it up.
You could just as easily give it Blessing and attack the opponents creatures.

That is true but unless you don't use its skill period or you attack your own monster it'll die after continued use

aether already has lightning anyway which does 5 damage at no cost to the player.

What's the point of this exactly?

This seems very situational
While I'm not straining my brain atm the only cards i recall your opponent having that can affect your quanta are black hole and discord.

Not really. Say you have ten death quantums to play a bone dragon. It'd be easier to do that than make a malignant cell, and wait for it to duplicate so you can sacrifice them both. It's basically 10 for dragon in one turn vs. 8 for aflatoxin and 5 for tribute in two turns

after using chaos seed around 2000 times I've yet to see that happen
