I think a counter could be pretty easy to develop in 15 min. but what if the rebels were disclosed 5-10 random cards from the deck and the rebel team is given a couple days to prepare?
I don't think 5-10 cards would be enough to put up a decent fight.

Disclosed --> cannot be used

For example a Ray of Light deck would no allow mass CC to wipe out all little RoLs. Making it more challenging to counter.

Another point: Fully upped decks would mean devoted and experienced players. If such players are interested in this event, they will be willing to sacrifice time and effort for an interesting event.

Not nobody, look at tournaments, but even those last for a couple hours if you advance far in them.
If you just want a couple games, you go into PvP. Longer and more challenging events are more intriguing.

If it is mindgate, you don't need all the other cards, try concentrating on mindgate + quantum tower/supernova base. On that you can add a few cards from each element, but this is a little messy for me. Add some more  :aether generators.

Use USEM, or similar rushes to beat your brothers deck :) When you rush him in 4 turns (USEM I'm not sure can, but a Immo Golem rush would) his mindgate will be mindblown.
But to be serious, cut size and be more efficient.

Pretty much all said.
Game 1
Good draw, enough poison + PUd Chargers. Didn't see a single Dim Shield though, but it didn't matter.

Game 2
I thought hardly about adding more PU and an extra Lobo. But what is the chance that the Master of  :aether will stay with the same deck? Meh..... Also only saw my 2 unupped poisons until it was too late. No Lobo came up to stop the Chargers.

Game 3
Fractix killed me... If I hadn't been so tired maybe I'd changed to a Fractal based deck too, though I was afraid not being able to go through a chain of shields. Stood no chance here, though managed to bring Higurashi's HP down to 10.

Response time should be between 1-24 hours, not 15 mins ...
And in that case the empire would not attack all at once.
1 round is nothing. Make it longer and more diverse. Otherwise players will be less interested.

i was making a case, in which the HP was not at max... Because then it would take longer to equal the healing.
(wasted healing = healing 7 when having more than 93 HP)

a couple of things maybe state how many upgraded cards the empire side can use also i suggest increasing the time to build counter decks to 12hours or 1 whole day 15mins isnt enough considering that some players may not be on at the time and will be penalized for no reason. other then those quick changes you need to state what kind of style is the event single elmination swiss style? how does one side win ETC.
15 minutes is short, but the point is to limit your opponent, so they can't find the perfect counter. (I think) But 15 minutes is really nothing, so I think 1-2 hours would be fine 12-24 you can find perfect counters (though you could do it in 15 mins as well if you know what you are doing)

Posting the decks should happen at a previously agreed time. Therefore eliminating the chance of not being available. (Both players PM the organizer/post the time of the start in a thread)

So basically:


1st turn, 7 hp healed, +3 poison.

2nd turn, 7-3 hp healed = 4 healed, + 3 poison

3rd turn, 7-6 hp healed = 1 healed, + 3 poison

4th turn, 7-9 hp healed = -2 healed = 2 damage + 3 poison.

takes 4 turns for poison damage to overcome healing.

5th turn, 7-12 healed = -5 healed = 5 damage + 3 poison

6th turn, 7- 15 = -8 healed = 8 damage + 3 poison.

7th  turn, 7-18 = -11 healed = 11 damage + 3 poison.

One widow + death stalker + Arsenic = 6 poison counters each turn

with that combo, 2nd turn poison is overcome .


overall an intersting card mechanic, i like it very much  :)
Actually not....
By turn 3, it heals a total of 7+4+1=12 HP

so

turn 4: 12-2 =10
turn 5: 10-5 =5
turn 6: 5-8 = -3

Basically if you add the effects together, the total damage will only overcome the total healing after 6 turns. (assuming the healing was useful and not wasted)

The unupped version is therefore even more UP. IMO it would take too long for it to be used effectively. (Again assuming the healing is useful)
Maybe lower the healing to 3 and 5 ?

I know I'm double posting, but I want to separate the ideas.

Two cards, with the same basic idea

 :darkness
5 ATK, -2HP
Yes it's negative HP. It can only be killed if HP is equal to 0. If it is healed more, HP will be +, it loses ability and can be killed as normal.

 :light
5 ATK, 2HP
It can only be killed if EXACTLY it's HP would equal to 0 at the end of the turn. If HP is 2, and you deal 3 damage, it heals back at the end of the turn instead of dying.

Note: not upgrades of each other, just different take on the same basic idea.
