Yes, that's why I am having such a problem with the balance.  On one hand, you are spending a huge amount of quanta that could equal that damage in creatures.  On the other hand, 36 damage is a huge amount for a single spell and instant.

Hrm.  The problem is, I don't want to increase the denominator, as it needs to still be useful without many massive creatures in play.  That said, when you do have many massive creatures in play, it needs to not be overpowered.  I suppose I could set it to a maximum of 15.  How does that sound?

For each you have on the field also? I feel that's a bit too much for this; but i like the card :)
I was sort of having a hard time with the idea and the wording.  I don't think this should be something you get penalized for not playing early.  In fact, my original intention was to take the total health of your creatures on the field / 6 (5) and make the chance of hitting an asteriod about 70%.

Similar to the bone wall for death but based on gravity's large creatures.  I couldn't fit everything I wanted to say on the card, but the idea is that it comes into play with X asteroids where X is your creatures combined health / 6 (5).  There is a minimum of 1 built into the card, and a maximum of 20.

OK, I gave it another try.  Healing you for the amount removed +5.

As for purify, in a rainbow deck, one would likely choose purify for it's ability to remove all poison counters.  This is especially important against a poison deck.  In a light deck, or a against a deck that doesn't focus on poison but has it, this would be a better fit. 

Honestly, I suppose it depends on what quanta you are liable to have more of and if you think you will need the healing Purge could offer.
