It only works if you have enough room for three more cards (and you spend one card, not as with hourglass). I think that's important.

I was thinking about adding a "sacrifice a creature" to the cost.
But what about Unstable Gas? It does 20 damage and doesn't need to sacrifice anything. This is quite worse

@Nepycros: The advantage of this card (besides avoiding decking out) is that generates shards. But they are random shards. You can build a deck arround this card if you have creatures like nimphs that consume a lot of quanta for they skills. But besides that the shards are random and that's a point to consider.
It maybe needs an increase. But if I do what you say the card will be totally nerf.

This card uses darkness. Sundial can be used in all elements. Sundial brings you the possibility to draw. This gives you attack. I think they are just different in many ways.
