It's the only texture you can use easily in 5 minutes.

And it's inherently more fun than the flat brush.

They really picked from all over the mythology:

Beast was on the original team. Banshee and Havok date back to the 2nd formation of the team in the 60s (Giant-Size X-Men #1, and Banshee wasn't a teenager, and Havok wasn't military or a criminal). Darwin and Angel are from only a year or so ago. Mystique has always been a villain, occasionally part of a team but usually independent and never associated with Xavier or Magneto in any way. Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw worked together as bad guys for a very long time, although she never worked for Magneto and actually joined the X-Men several years ago. Riptide (the bad guy who made tornadoes) is a very random choice from a C-List bad guy team. Moira MacTaggart was originally a Scottish geneticist who made the discoveries and theories that the movie credits to Xavier.

I actually had to sneak this in at work just now! I have WinXP at work and Win7 at home, and I'm pretty fast with the original MS Paint but still clumsy with the "new and improved" version.

Please note that it has historically been very important to get a fully upped AI3/t50 grinder and a fully upped FG Grinder.  To reach these goals you probably shouldn’t feel bad about selling currently useless upgrades to up cards and make the decks you grind with more effective.  After that point, though, you enter a wealth accumulation phase.
You might want to put this part in boldface and/or change the color, so the skimming noob doesn't go straight to the green points and then think that they're never supposed to sell cards.

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: A few details about T500

I'm pretty certain that you choose one of the four different leagues after selecting the T500 and then are matched up against a deck from that league. Decks are in different leagues depending on their level.

Edit: Found the thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17265.0.html) with all the T500 information.
Ahhh thanks Wizardcat! All is explained.

Would it fix people's complaints if you had to make 11 decks and could use each one twice? 11 decks would still be pretty hard (I think? i'm no pro, maybe it isn't).

What are the four different leagues for? Say my score puts me in Silver League. When I play against T500, do I only fight against decks from other Silver League players, or what?

In-game Troubleshooting / Re: Top50 never finding an opponent.
« on: June 12, 2011, 02:20:51 am »
I've actually been having this problem since yesterday on FF (was working fine before that).

Specifically, I get to play t50 once, then it ceases to be able to find opponents until I reload browser and log back in.

Each time I log in, I get to play once, then I have to reload the page to find the next opponent.

This was working fine on thursday.
I can report the exact same thing.

Philosophy / Re: Words to live by.
« on: June 12, 2011, 02:17:53 am »
Something that one of my mom's elderly patients (she's a nurse) told her once:
"Nobody ever put on their tombstone 'I wish I'd eaten more salad.' "
Yeah, it's better for your health to eat salad instead of cheeseburgers, but life's no fun if you never eat a cheeseburger.
As far as we know, we only get one life. It's too short to spend all of it being practical and worrying about what you ought to do.

And:
"The best things in life aren't things."
The things you own can break or burn or be taken away from you. Money comes and goes too.
But your memories and your experiences always stay with you. The relationships you share with friends and family stay with you. Those are the important things.

Higs is certainly right.
[Linguistics]
Prescriptive grammar is the set of rules that you learn in school -- never use "they" as an indeterminate pronoun, don't end a sentence with a preposition, etc.
Descriptive grammar refers to everything speakers of the language actually do. The grammar is only wrong if people can't understand it.

I was pretty happy with First Class too! (I agree that they could've done better casting Emma Frost.)

If you're a comic book fan, you need to be able to let go of canon beyond "Prof X founded the X-Men" and "Xavier and Magneto have a weird relationship" -- because those are about the only two pieces left.
There's some really atrocious dialogue and a few awful bits of bad plotting*, but it's still a fun movie and an interesting take on the story. I felt like it was worth my $10.
And it's a MUST SEE if you like Magneto.

* Explanation (SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY)
Black man dies first.
Black-haired "ethnic" girl turns evil first.
Nobody other than Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, and Shaw really matter to the movie -- they could've put anybody on the team.
