Rainbow Decks / Re: immortal everything!
« on: March 09, 2010, 03:44:13 am »
This looks like it would be one of those decks that could work decently against some FG's, but it would be destroyed by others. Sometimes, very fast rushes are too much for a single Oty. Ferox, Fire Queen, and Chaos Lord (sometimes) come to mind. You would also easily deck out against FG's with Miracle, especially if you get your Lava Destroyers late. Puppychow's suggestion would remedy both of these problems. You could also try to fit in a Permafrost Shield, which would at least use up some the unused Water quantum.

Another suggestion could be to take out the Steals. Some of the current anti-FG rainbow decks work just fine without them.

So, possible changes:

-2 Steals
-1 Octopus
-1 Quint
+1 Permafrost
+1 Pulvy
+1 Rain of Fire
+1 Eternity

Permafrost helps against Elidnis, Divine Glory, Scorpio, and Gemini. Pulvy works wonders against Octane and FG's that use Hourglasses or decent shields. Rain of Fire and Eternity are pretty much self-explanatory.

I find it odd that there's about a 3.6% chance to have a starting hand that lacks a Quantum Tower. I just had about 5 games out of 10 start like that...  >:(

Funny, my first guess was starfish... *shrug*

lol
Ha! Same here. Then I said, "Wait... there is no starfish in this game..."

Earthquakes are Earth.

I expect Earth to win. EQs lock down practically anything except for itself, Pullverizer (upped) with Gravitymark is also great, or those Graboids and Shriekers for when the enemy doesn't have any worthwhile permanents to add lots of force... Stoneskin does pretty nice healing, Titanium/Diamond shield is the most powerful typical one, BB lets you stop the enemies for longer than freeze, forming efficient control, with Auburn Nymphs (if you have any) being a reusable source of those...

Currently Earth is simply the most versatile element. Or so.

Gravity is also powerful with ignoring shields and Otyughs, bashing Aether with its also powerful stalling and Life and such with their small creatures, but lacks healing aside from Black Holes that really suck against other Monos and permanent control, Aether cannot be stopped by conventional means and stalls highly but lacks pretty much everything or other, Light can do its Miracles to have like 650 HP, and of course nobody disallowed SoDs in there and by this time it can deploy enough to beat the enemy even with boredom (and those Holy Lights that are useless unless against Death/Darkness... poor BS)... and Air can just deploy much Gas like it was Ass and OHKO anything without SoDs or spells reflection if it can stall to this point and no one breaks them.
The italicized section is all one sentence...  :o But since he's not from the US, I'll let it slide.  :-X

Anyway, I'll root for the underdog here. C'mon Blood!  :P

Yesterday was frustrating for me too. I fought Divine Glory four times, Rainbow three times, Seism and Obliterator twice, and lost to Chaos Lord twice because of ridiculous creatures (one had Steal one game, and the other had Destroy in the next). Needless to say, I lost A LOT yesterday. Then, when I did win, it was really long, drawn out games. The worst part: I didn't win one single card. Therefore, no upgrades. I was not happy with Elements yesterday...  >:D

Nice phoenix, Kami! Too bad it's not in the game! :-p

J/k, of course.
^ That made me lol. I didn't notice that beak the first time.  :))

I have to say, I'm inclined to go through and +Karma ALL of these entries, because I couldn't even get my color palette selected in the time alloted.  You guys are all awesome.
I only had two colors in mine, and one of them wasn't even right.  :))

@ Thalas: Their's poop coming out of your unicorn. XD

@ Asymmetry: That actually looks pretty good to me. I guess it's the sketchy look of it. Although, the pink lines surrounding it throw it off a bit.

I'm curious.. how on earth (no pun intended) don't you have any upgraded Darkness cards when you have been playing since v0.4?

You already said you don't do PvP. Then do you fight FG's, level 1, or what? :)
^ This. Not even one Improved Steal?! If grinding isn't your thing, then how/why do you play this?

Good post Vreely and thanks for fleshing out your Chaos Lord strategy. Now that you've explained it a bit it doesn't seem as bad now. Knowing that i can throw my Pulvy out with 3-4 cards left seems manageable and those long games should be kept to a minimum. Just need to stay focused during those times (i sometimes go on autopilot and usually do multiple things while playing elements, probably one of my favorite things about this game.. that i can multitask and play).

Elidnis..... i didn't even think about how tough he would be especially with a jade shield out.

Astaroth: Yeah you really gotta remember what FG's have what and even how many of each he has. Although i am using better builds then before just knowing your FG's back and forth improves your winrate significantly. Like Vreely mentions you have to protect your Pulvy vs Chaos Lord unless you are pretty sure he doesn't have any more steals or absolutely have to play it.
I kept that first paragraph quoted up there because I do the same thing. I multitask and play. Sometimes I come back 30-40 minutes later, and this was mainly what I was referring to about Chaos Lord. I know he has Steal, but I'll come back completely absent-minded and play an unprotected Pulvy.  ???

I have to ask though. Was any part of the male anatomy an inspiration for your work?  :P

*See "blue and gray part"

Very debatable, actually. I was too lazy to set custom colors because I wanted to get this done in 45 seconds or less, so I just chose the colors that the palette gives you from the start. They aren't even close to exactly correct :P

And I ALMOST was able to finish in 45 seconds. Pity.
Oh, I did the same thing with my picture. I only took about 1 minute and used the generic palette.
