A new awesome-looking Grid is now available in the second post !

Thanks to TStar (who made the renaming of the art) and Scaredgirl (who made the Relic-with-numbers pictures).

Looks great.

Btw.. I was comparing the Relic with the number 1 on it, and the one that didn't have it, and the latter looked much better imo. The problem is that there are so many single Relics, that it's a spamfest of the number 1. I didn't think it would be a problem when I looked at the single images, but when you see the whole grid, the 1 x Relic looks pretty bad to me. Also, not having the number makes more sense, because a single relic in the game doesn't have a number on it. But then you stack them, it's logical that a number appears, because when you have more than one, it becomes "special".

This is not a big deal of course, but I recommend you use some Find & Replace and see for yourself.

I've made the replacement. Looks better indeed, but the "alone" Relics are now less visible (if you want to have a quick overview of the Relic slots).

As for the rules, I made some minor edits (with a proper naming for the "slot filled by a Relic if you win").

Now that the mechanics are (hopefully) balanced, I'll prepare some examples if needed.

If I was picking from that grid, I'd probably try something like this:
SlotCard
A3Deflagration
B2Pheonix
C9Relic
D5Poison
E8Bonewall
F4Relic x 1
G1Rage Potion
H11Relic x 2
I7Owl's Eye
J6Relic x 2
K10Relic x 1
L12Graviton Fireeater
0/6 Relics Spent

This seems like a very interesting event. I would be very happy to join it. One thing, what if more than one person picks the same relic spot?
EDIT: what if more than one winner picks the same relic spot?

Both players get the Relics for the win.  If you mean pick the same spot to put Relics on then that spot just gets multiple Relics.
Carpe Diem!!

The actual Grid won't be posted until the event starts.

It will be available in graphic form, but also in text form, so you can import the HTML table. Well, it depends on how you want to save it.

EDIT : Just added the text-based table to the second post.

You may not choose a card slot you have chosen in the previous round. There are no restrictions on Relic slots.
So, round 1, I choose A1, If it does not turn into a relic, I cannot choose A1 in round 2, but can again in round 3?
If it turns into a relic, I can choose it in round 2?

So we just have to make sure we don't double choose a slot in back to back rounds? And if the card disappears in A1 because it was changed to a relic, but re-appears somewhere else in the grid, I can choose that card, as long as I didn't choose that slot last round? (but that slot would have been a relic slot the previous round... so another question...)

If I choose A1, which contains a relic, can I choose A1 for it's card next round (being I win and the relic is changed to a card)?  Chan I choose the relic slot again the next round, if I lose and it is not taken?

If a card slot is changed into a Relic, you can select that slot again the next round.
If a Relic slot is changed into a card, you can select that slot again the next round.
If a Relic slot stays as a Relic, you can select that slot again the next round.
If a card slot stays as a card, you cannot select that slot again the next round.
If a card you selected appears on a new card slot, you can select that same card in the new slot the next round.  Any time you select a Relic slot is isn't counted towards the "no same slot twice in a row" rule, so a Relic that becomes a card will always have that slot available to all players that round.

This rule is there to encourage players to convert strong combo cards into Relics since once you use them you will not be able to in the next round while you opponent might have it open to them.  This encourages more creativity and prevents the same couple cards from just being selected by everyone for the entire event.
Carpe Diem!!
