ddevans96 (1 - 3) SteppingStone81

A4 - Crusader
B9 - Explosion
C7 - Morning Star
D2 - Firefly Queen
E6 - Steam Machine
F10 - Acceleration
G12 - Azure Dragon
H8 - Hope
I11 - Titan
J3 - 1 Relic
K1 - Lobotomizer
L5 - Voodoo Doll

typewith.me went down after the match, so I had to remake my decks. They're probably not exact but they're very close.

Game 1: Dolleration (Loss)
Code: [Select]
55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55s 55s 55s 55s 562 562 562 562 562 562 576 576 576 576 576 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0
First game in testing, I drew zero dolls. Second game in testing, I drew zero accels. Actual match, I drew three of each. *facepalm*

I only saw his dragons and darkness mark in this match. To be honest I was actually thinking nightmare.

Game 2: Azure Hope (Win)
Code: [Select]
5lh 5lh 5lk 5lk 5lk 5lk 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu
I get a normal draw, which of course being an FFQ means I still need three turns to get out a queen. He has a horrible quanta draw though, so I have hope (no puntended)

Eventually I play one queen and he LS's it, but he still has no pends. I play a second one and start swarming him. Not much he could do here.

Game 3: Starstruck (Loss)
Code: [Select]
5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61u 61u
Very risky deck I came up with on the spot. In theory it should be fairly decent against most decks. LS is not most decks D:<

I played four steammies in the game and only one got to use his ability, once. Joy. Even so I got him to ~40 HP.

Game 4: Azure Hope (mod) (Win)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5lk 5lk 5lk 5lk 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5of 5of 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 8pn

It worked once, so I replaced the star with more dragons, tweaked the quanta, and figured why the hell not. LS is why the hell not D:<

He had a much better draw this game, and he had an LS for each of the first two queens I was able to play. The third one stuck, but his dragons were aiming for my neck. Obai cruel world.

Great match SS, and best of luck with the rest of the event.

SteppingStone81  3-1  ddevans96

Great match, ddevans - a pleasure to play against creative decks (i.e., not GotP-nightmare)!

Slot picks:

A11Malignant Cell
B3Malignant Cell
C91 relic
D6Cloak***
E10Malignant Cell
F8Liquid Shadow***
G12Azure Dragon
H5Maxwell's Demon
i23 relics
J4Malignant Cell

L1Catapult

Relics gained from Grid:  +11
    4 relics
8 from malignant cells  (4 x 2 = 8 )6 from malignant cells7 from malignant cells[/list]Relics spent:  0

Decks:

Game 1 (Win):

First game I brought cloaks and LS to protect against the annoying rewinds in a GotP nightmare deck.  I got a great draw of pillars / pends and dragons + 1 dusk mantle.  Opponent got a weaker draw, so I knew I would be able to outrush accelerating voodoo dolls (didn't see any darkness or gravity CC in ddevans' available grid choices).  I refrained from using LS or cloak this match.

Game 2 (Loss):
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5uo 5uo 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5v2 5v2 5v2 5v2 5v2 8pt

Knowing that accelerating voodoo and GotP-nightmare could coexist in a set of grid choices this round, I expected the boring GotP-nightmare.  I had tested against GotP-nightmare with ~75-80% win rate, so I was confident.  But then I saw a :life mark and I was like  :o :o.  I got a 1 pillar, 0 pend draw, so it wouldn't have mattered what he was playing, but he played a nice FFQ / azure dragon / hope deck.  I LS'd one FFQ, but with no pendula, I was quickly overwhelmed.

Game 3 (Win):
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5uo 5uo 5uo 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 8pt

ddevans tried a Steam Machine / lobo deck this round, but I had removed the cloaks from my deck, maxed out LS to lobotomize FFQs, and added more pendula to ensure the :darkness quanta to play the LS.  The LS handled his first four steam machines, and though he deflagged my dusk mantle, I eventually got the :air quanta to beat him down with azure dragons.

Game 4 (Win):

Deck import code : [Select]
5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5uo 5uo 5uo 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 8pt

I went with the same deck as Game 3, expecting to play against FFQ / azure dragon / hope once more.  This time, I drew plenty of pendula and was able to LS each FFQ as soon as he played it.  My dusk mantle haxxed pretty hard, and my azure dragons gleefully ripped him limb from limb.   ::)

Best of luck in the rest of this event, ddevans!

I have been advised that 6 relics was max from malignant cells, so I updated my original post to reflect that I only get +10 relics this round   :(

You should get 1 relic from the 4th malignant cell... if I read the rules right.  So you should have gained 11.  Yell at me if this is incorrect.

Be careful : the bonus will only be awarded if you follow the restrictions for all Cells you picks. If you don't, Cells count as 1x Relics.
I believe this is only for Malignant Cells that are next to another pick.

Well, this quote from the rules suggests that Malignant cells are limited to 6 total relics:
Special Rules : If you win, gain 2 Relics for each Malignant Cell in your picks (up to 6 Relics).
On the other hand, this quote suggests that Malignant cells might still count for 1x relic:
The Cell slots will be filled by new cards next round. Be careful : the bonus will only be awarded if you follow the restrictions for all Cells you picks. If you don't, Cells count as 1x Relics.
The rules probably lean towards 6 relics max from Malignant cells (sadface)

You're right, extra Cells still count for 1 Relic. You'll gain 4 + 2*3 + 1 = 11 Relics for your win.

I'll update stuff in the next 10-15 minutes.
