coinich 3 - TheForbiddenOracle 1
Good games all. His deck surprised me; I suspected a Wings deck with the Air mark but was pleasantly surprised. His dragons gave me a run for my money. I spent 2 Relics; hopefully I made up for them with the match bonus; all my decks were 35 cards. My picks were:
1A - Pharaoh
6B - Relic
8C - Relic
12D - Precognition
7E - Purify
10F - Acceleration
5G - Relic
9H - Ash Eater
2I - Immolation
11J - Eternity
3K - Relic
4L - Ice Shield
I forgot what I targeted, but oh well, Gyro has the record.
Round 1: Summarized as "Freeze the opponent, you goddamned Perma Shield!" It was shortly followed by Perma freezing almost his entire offense after letting them through for a few turns.
I slowed him to a crawl when I was around 30hp, and my Steam Machines took over from there.
http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd377/coinich/FOMatch1.pngRound 2: Close to the first. Perma was a bit slow to freeze and he played too many Dragons to keep up with. He outrushed me by about a turn. TFO had to go, so I got lunch during this time and plotted my revenge. Steam Machines was a good deck, but Perma wasn't quite cooperating.
http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd377/coinich/FOMatch2.pngRound 3: During lunch I tested Plan B, and found it won each and every match. I tweaked it up to 35 cards for the bonus and played a Pharaoh/Eternity deck. It hurt him badly, as I Rewound enough to both freeze his draw and then eat the rest of his offense. With him completely stalled, albeit at a high hp cost, I surged ahead for the win.
http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd377/coinich/FOMatch3.pngRound 4: Same decks, same matchup. I got a Pharaoh out first, unlike testing, but I hadn't drawn an Eternity and felt it wouldn't hurt. His draw seemed limited as well, with Precogs keeping me informed of what few creatures showed up. I Precog'd and topdecked until I got an Eternity, and it was game over then. He didn't have a chance, though I always rewound one creature to keep him from drawing any others. Wasn't a pretty victory, but it was a victory.

Spent 2 Relics, gained 6 Relics, one Relic leftover. Total: 7 Relics.

I had a few upgrade choices here. Permas were mandatory; they would slaughter small critter decks and stall anything larger I hoped. Sadly it didn't work as well as I had hoped. I upped the Steam Machines at the last minute, thinking that he might bring hard CC; it wasn't necessary though. Upping the Fire cards or pillars could've worked well too. Immolation helped me get that last
every once in a while as well.

This was originally a 30 card deck to outrush what I needed, but I took the risk and added another Pharaoh and 4 Pends for the bonus. I upped the Precogs because I usually drew Pillars with them; the cost balanced out whereas otherwise the Precogs would drain too much. Eternities would have been another option. Pharaohs didn't add that much when I upgraded; simply an immunity to Titanium Shield that I could bypass rather easily with Acceleration or simply Devouring other Scarabs. This deck also opted as an anti-stall with the Eternities.
