Pretty fun event^^

1st: Loss

Discord scrabled me pretty good and by the time I was able to collect some quanta, I was already down to 40 HP. I made a comeback and managed to beat him down to a next turn victory. Wasn't enough though.

2nd: Loss

His E-Peen Deck was bigger. Surrendered before playing any card.

EQ slowed me down pretty bad and Pulvy didn't help much either, but thanks to a bunch of sancs and rewinds, I was able to stall long enough for my long Shrieker (got company later though) to beat him down.

Swapped some Pillars around to counter Pulvy, sadly I didn't realize that I had too few :earth production with this, so EQ wasn't actually countered. *note to self: Always take a 2nd look at the deck and ask myself: Would this be REALLY stupid?*
Didn't have enough earth Quanta to rewind my shriekers often enough. Lost by 3 Turns.

SteppingStone81:  3
Kakerlake:  1

Enjoyed the matches, Kakerlake!  Great event, Gyrodiot!

Picks:
A6, B7, C2, D10, E4, F3, G9, H8, I5, J11, K12, L1
(black hole, discord, abomination, dissipation shield, sapphire charger, earthquake, pulverizer, hope, short sword, flying weapon, pandemonium, mutation)

Targets:
J11, F3, B7
flying weapon, earthquake, discord

:P  yay! killed off some of my least favorite cards!!!   :P
Relics spent:  zero

Decks:

Game 1 (Win)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4ve 4ve 4ve 4ve 4ve 4ve 4vl 4vl 4vl 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 55k 55k 55k 55l 55l 55l 55v 55v 55v 55v 8pl
I figured discord-BH would have some surprise value for the first game.  Decent early quanta production got me a turn 2 discord plus a few abominations / chargers.  The discord did its work, but he was able to reverse time / eternity my critters and slow me down until he could start playing out his graboids.  I never saw a black hole, so I got within one turn of death, but 2 abom and a charger were enough to finish it.

Game 2 (Win)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vk 4vk 4vk 4vk 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 8pj
Looking at Kakerlake's remaining available grid choices, I immediately expected sanctuaries and - knowing the Master of Earth - likely the Immortal.  I brought an extra fat diss shield stall, and Kaker quit when he saw my deck size.

Game 3 (Loss)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
55k 55k 55k 55k 55k 55l 55l 55l 55l 55l 55l 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 58v 58v 58v 58v 593 593 593 593 593 593 8pm
I expected sanctuaries again, so I tried to finish him off with an earth/grav duo with pulverizers to handle the sanctuaries.  I got very little quanta production though (particularly lacking on earth), and Kaker got 5 pendula on turn 1 plus a few more in the early going and was able to get out his creatures.  For a while, I managed to hold him to one shrieker on the board, but he kept rewinding my critters and playing sanctuaries and slowed me just enough so that he could flood the board with graboids.

Game 4 (Win)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vg 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 4vp 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 593 593 593 593 593 593 8pm
This game was painfully slow.  I knew his grid choices could not include protect artifact, so I brought EQs with a fat diss shield stall.  Discord worked for two turns, then accidentally gave him 4 :light to play a sanctuary.  He quickly realized he was not going to kill me and started trying to save up quanta to rewind his graboids and deck me out.  I EQ'd earth pillars and pendula as fast as I could and won with 3 turns to spare.  Amusingly, I drew my 6th EQ on the last turn ... would have made me sweat a lot less had I drawn it sooner.

I used Pestosis, and despite a shaky first round shut him down.  I'm glad it worked; if I had to change decks my other options weren't nearly as strong.

I targeted Dissipation Shield, Gravity Shield, and Otyugh
Game 1: A 1 or 2 Pend start, with 4 or 5 Devourers.  Slow.  Didn't look good, I saw a liferush (why didn't I think of that!) and worried about a Jade Shield.  He rushed me pretty good, but I Mitosis'd Vamps pretty early to stay alive.  I played my 3rd Mitosis on a Vamp to speed things up, and that probably saved me the match.  I won with ~10 health.

Game 2: Jippy brought the Life deck again, but with a Fire mark.  I expected Rain of Fire, but apparently he had a Fire Buckler instead.  I saw neither, having a good 4 Pend start and quickly shutting him down.  He conceded halfway through.

Game 3: Same as above, but slightly faster.  He brought the same deck, but drew 1 Pillar.  My deck dominated; he never had a chance.

Good games jippy, I hope you had some fun at least.

Game 2: (vs Ice Dragon/Squid/Steal)  WIN
I was able to get my dragons out fairly quickly. He only drew one of his, so I never had to play a shield.
Code: [Select]
5up 5up 5up 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 63a 63a 63a
Game 3: (vs Graboid/EQ/Deja Vu)  LOSS
I went with the same deck thinking that'd he think I'd switch from Phase Shields since I knew he had Steals. I drew all 3 of my Pendulums... so much for splitting my quanta sources. He got a couple EQs on me. I doubt the mis-click would have made much of a difference, since he EQ'd me the very next turn.
Code: [Select]
5up 5up 5up 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 63a 63a 63a
Game 4: (vs Ice Dragon/Squid)  WIN
He didn't draw his dragons fast enough again, so I didn't have to play any shields.
Code: [Select]
61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a

ak65ala 1 - 3 majofa

Bad luck and a good pick of phase dragon defined this set of games.

Picks:
Titanium Shield, Graboid, Earthquake, Iridium Warden, Arctic Squid, Ice Dragon, Deja Vu, Reverse Time, Eternity, Steal, Phase Dragon, Fractal

Game 1: Loss
Code: [Select]
58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58s 590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 593 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rk 5roDrew all 3 of my time pillars and 1 earth pillar, 3 EQ in hand.  Single devourer ate that earth quanta for 3 turns, then swarm of fractal devourers locked me down.  Played out to try and find more of his card choices.  Deck out.

Game 2: Loss
Code: [Select]
5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5id 5id 5id 5id 5id 5id 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5up 5up 5up 5upPhase dragon defined this game.  Made my squids useless.  Drew only 1 dragon in the top 18 cards of the deck.  We dy-sync-ed... but I lost to computer, he won.

Game 3: Win
Code: [Select]
58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 590 590 590 590 590 590 593 593 593 593 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5rg 5rg 5rh 5rh 5rh 5rh 5rh 5rhmajofa had a bad hand + mic-clicked late in the game, disallowing his phase shields to chain.  I EQed all his quanta generation, making his mistake a game winner.

Game 4: Loss
Code: [Select]
5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5ib 5ib 5ib 5id 5id 5id 5id 5id 5id 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5up 5up 5up 5up 5up 5upBest game in the bunch.  Again, squid was useless.  It became a dragon rush, me hoping to be on the wining side of damage, allowing me to steal a dropped DS.  Sadly, dragons came late again... but not badly.  majofa won with 7 HP left.

Good games majofa.  I knew I had some tough games ahead of me, your reputation proceeds you.  I was not disappointed.  I just wish I could train my bad luck to go on vacation or something....
