Here is where you can post  your Floating Matches results.
The subsequent Relic gain will be reported in the standing somewhat after.
Went AWOL. No reason.
Now silent. May return.

ddevans96 3-2 RootRanger

This goes right up there with Trials and round 1 of CotO as one of my most enjoyable matches ever. I'm pleased with my deck choice but it was really luck that won today.

I made these picks to face someone who's potential I knew nothing of. Not one of the recognized PvPers in the forum.

A12 - Forest Spirit
B6 - Spark
C2 - Rage Potion
D5 - Phoenix
E8 - Fog Shield
F9 - Minor Vampire
G4 - Immolation
H10 - Reverse Time
I11 - Gargoyle
J1 - Deflagration
K7 - Cloak
L3 - Devonian Dragon
I made an error in these picks by picking one more target than allowed, which I later corrected in a follow-up PM, removing my target from Cloak.

I saw light and fire and knew I was in for a tough ride. I deflaged his first sanc and dropped two phoenixes. He promptly ashed one, and killed the other. I revived my phoenix but it too was killed. After a while I destroyed another sanc on sight, and had two phoenixes and a 5|5 spirit, which he killed. I held on to my damage and won.

Having put too many pends in here, I was flooded with fire quanta quickly. He got creatures early but I pulled out two potions. He put out more damage. Eventually I got out a devonian, but it was promptly rewinded. Even more creatures came and I never saw a RT. I got a devonian out again near the end, but he crushed me with damage.

It looked like I would be short on quanta but I wasn't. He got a ghost quickly, but I raged it. He dropped a grabbie (which I would rage later), and I played some damage under a cloak. When it fell, he rewinded my phoenixes, but I got them out again. The rest of my rages held his damage down and I won with the safety of a second cloak.

I had four sparks in 9 cards and no immo. With no protection and less control, my phoenixes faltered to RT while his ghosts and grabbies pounded me down. When my hand got full I was forced to drop a spark, as I never drew an immo the whole game. I don't believe I ever drew a rage either.

I had a near-god quanta hand and pulled out a phoenix to counter a grabbie. He unburrowed and I topdecked a rage. He got more damage which I held up with rage until my first cloak fell. Then I got some vampires for minor healing, and it was a damage race to the end. I thought I had lost, but I guess I miscounted and had one or so HP left to beat him.

Came in expecting a firestall without deflag. Although I got a sanctuary early enough to stop the devtal, I simply couldn't out-damage or out-heal fractal vampires.

Game 2 - Knowing he didn't have a firestall, I pulled out the ghostmare. I packed some Drain Lifes because I figured he wouldn't have many permanents, and they took out his Deathstalkers in the second match.

Game 3 - Stuck with the ghostmare, thinking he wouldn't have anything to really counter it. Accelerated Armagios, and some deflags proved me right.

Game 4 - I wasn't surprised at all when I saw the time mark. I beat him in the damage race and kept my nightmares until the killing blow.
Thanks for the matches UTAlan.

Terroking 3 - 0 mrpaper

Well, GGs. RNG hit hard on both sides, but ultimately my decks just matched up better against his in a vacuum.

Devourer - Adrenaline - Mind Flayer - Firefly Queen - Parallel Universe - Minor Vampire - Horned Frog - Crusader - Liquid Shadow - Fractal - Cloak - Black Dragon
Game 1:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5ul 5ul 5ul 5ul 5ul 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5v2 5v2 5v2 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 8pu

Had a 1 pillar starting draw and was pretty certain I would lose, especially after going a few turns without seeing another. I discarded something like 5 times, but when finally down to 16 life and 16 poison, I had the quanta to put out 2 Cloaked, Vampiric dragons. A third the turn afterwards enabled me to out-heal his damage and win a super-tight game.

Game 2:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5ut 5ut 5ut 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 622 622 622 622 622 622 8pu

I had quanta, a vampire, 2 devs, and a Fractal in my opening hand, so I was feeling pretty good. In addition my devs stole all his early :earth, such that his only play with it was a Graboid the turn before I Fractal'd my devs. He had 2 Ghosts and a Shrieker out a this point totaling 22 damage to my 2 vamps. I did some math and saw that I could narrowly manage to Fractal and play 8 Vamps at 12 hp, at which point I had 20 healing. But he had 22 damage. Fortunately a 5 turn win is that much faster than a 6 turn one, and with him not being able to play cards due to the Devs, I took a really close match.

Game 3:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5ul 5ul 5ul 5ul 5ul 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5v2 5v2 5v2 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 8pu

I expected him to replay his deck, and figured this would be a better matchup, considering how narrowly I won the last even with pulling off both quanta lock and 10 Vamps. This was much faster and sealed the game up more handily after you went off, which ended up happening. I waited a while with the combo in hand and a drag on the field since I didn't need the healing and he may have had RTs for me to bait out, but he played a Eternity so I played my combo. He had a Procrastination out a turn later which slowed me down a huge turn, but it had come out a turn too late and 4 dragons took the game.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Went quite good, up to the point where I had only 3 Sundials and 3 Gasses by the time I died. Cluttering at the bottom is not nice :(

Really bad hand for me: Only Light Pends, a Squid and 3 Blessings.
Kept drawing Vamps and the turn before I died a :darkness Pend came to mock me.

Quite a tight match, but the lack of Dials did me in.

Game 1: Sundials stopped my Titan. Gotta note that for the future. Also, UG almost killed me, if not for the fact that he missed another one (and the quanta needed only enough for 3 UGs) GG.

Game 2: Yep, i should have brought Catapult for his Arctic Squid. But i overlooked that. Fortunately i realized that Accel is a loboing spell too, so no freeze. He stacked the blessing on that lone squid, but got outdamaged fast. GG.

Game 3: Now i'm all fired up. Speed poison with Dials. Almost got him, but he then started a sundial chain, followed by Squid. But then Dials ran out. GG.
If he not overlooked that Catapult like i did, he would most likely win using a Catatitan deck. As for me, i can be proud of 2 things:
I've never lost a match in this Grid. (as in, i win all my matchups. No bragging, sorry.)
I've used the Catapult before it was cool (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,36777.msg495554#msg495554). Though, i have no qualms using it again, had i seen it before i submitted my pick.
And i will try harder this last part.

GG Kakerlake! Hope you win your next FM, so you'll stay in the top 8!
