I'm not sure yet on discards so I'll post my Salvage thoughts.....

:light deck
** Not too much to get excited over here.  We already have 5 RT's lucked away in the Vault so the only good options I see are either taking some Ghosts to try and make a Gravity/Time duo to play against teams we think might use GoTP/Nightmare on us so we don't have to Discard or we grab up some Light Pendulums and pair them with some Sanctuaries from the :death deck to try and act as a GoTP/Nightmare counter or a ghetto healstall deck.

:earth deck
Beating :earth was a blessing.  We have our strongest synergy with them and zero Earth Pillars/Pendulums.  Salvaging some Pendulums can go a long way in helping an EQ deck.  We could also settle on some Gnomes for EQ-proof quanta, or grab some more BB's to try and make 2 good :earth :gravity stalls with.

:death deck
** Bone Walls look tempting but our vault doesn't have enough Death quanta producers in it to really make it work, plus we don't really have the ability to trigger death effects to the extent that would make a Bone Wall stall strong enough for our low damage to take advantage of.  We have plenty of Arsenic in the vault and Poison is a luxury.  We either take Sanctuary to pair with some salvaged Light Pendulums, or we grab some Sundials to use in a nova catapult Titan deck.
Carpe Diem!!

No, we only salvage 6 cards per win every round. It stays at 6 always.

then why did we have to discard 18 cards from each deck last round?

Discarding has a formula: X = 6(N)
X= number of discards
N= Number of the round we're on.

Salvage also has a formula: X = 6
Were X = number of salvages.
I think this is used to make sure war doesn't last forever on a game or two keeping a team alive.

so... salvage isn't the same as discard?
also, does this mean that we don't lose the cards our opponent salvage?

Salvage =/= discard.
And yes, whatever our opponent salvages we have no idea what that may be, so we keep whatever they choose to salvage.
