Having been on Team Time in war #4, I can speak from personal experience that an awful lot of their decks are vulnerable to Pulverizer.  If we send a deck using pulverizer that also has a solid chance against novabow, I think we're in fantastic shape.  Something like the accelerated golem/pulvy thing, except maybe with two black holes snuck in in place of, say, an acceleration and earthquake, and possibly adjust quanta balance if necessary..

Very interestingly, they brought zero novabows last round.  They also brought only one deck with PC, and those were steals.  I think that the frozen catatitans could do good things here.  I think it would beat every deck they fielded last round other than the one with steals, and even that one might be close.  Also note that steals are mostly useless vs dials (though they could still card draw off of them since they will naturally have light quanta)

Their decks all have the same sort of 'feel' to them to me, but I'm not quite sure what it is.  I also notice that none of their decks yet used have devourers in them, which is interesting, to say the least.  I'm not really sure what to suggest for our matchup here, but I think I'd bet on something using durable creatures like graviton guards or dragons, maybe something like that adrenaline idea.

Water seems to be using several really unusual and experimental decks.  (sound familiar? :p )  I think our hidden DBH deck will succeed here; discord is particularly cruel to such strategies.  They've also used decks like nymph's tears or squid, and quanta denial can play havoc with their quanta management.  I'll be the one against water, and I do have four amber nymphs, so using the two in our vault won't be a problem.

Well, it's Air... they have a ton of CC.  The phoenix duo might work here, since they're hard to kill, and with the firebolts, we'd have a chance against any hope decks, too.  If we wanted to, we could make an alteration and use fire eaters here as well.

Whoever designed some of these decks deserves a prize... but not from us!  Note that scaramanga showed 4 green nymphs, so we could potentially face that pufferfish thing.  I'm not sure what to play here; my gut's telling me the FFQ/hope deck, but that's probably one we'll have to discard, so I don't know what to suggest.

Just as a heads up, I've done all of this work under a separate post for each element: Light Intel, Darkness Intel, etc.  You could still post your analysis here, or even cut and paste everything (but no sense in duplicating the work I've already done if you're not pulling from those threads).

Oh, fair enough :p  I didn't include any elements we aren't facing this round, anyway.   (I just wanted to get all the decks they used last round in one place and gather a rough idea what to expect)

Vs. Life, I think DBH might be nice.  It's been doing well in a few of the tests I've run (including against the nymph deck that scaramanga played last round - though I doubt he'd bring it two rounds in a row... but the mind gate your mind gate loop might say to bring it).  I don't have any gravy nymphs, but so swapped in black holes. I also think that chargers are going to be more useful than mercs (bypass any carapace or jade shield nonsense).  This is the build I'm toying with now:

If I were life, I'd be expecting Oty's so they probably have some CC, maybe an Eagle eye duo? And wings could stop discord solid... that would suck. Can't pack any PC in here given our vault....  I dunno.

I like that modification, assuming we'd use it against life.  What would you suggest against water then?  They seemed to be using heavy CC decks, so I wanted to avoid anything really vulnerable to that.

Yeah; good question. It's tough to say because most vaults are still fat at this point which makes prediction tricky.  But as I look at Water's match ups they seems to be playing defensively: Quanta split for EQ and all the arctic squids for Grabbies vs. Earth; Novas vs. Darkness for devourers; Steals and Nightmare to shut down an Air rush; Tons of CC vs. time (maybe thinking Scarabs or deja-fractals, etc.); note they brought the immo vs. Entropy, I know it's a UG deck, but immo could also ward off discord danger if needed and still have enough to make the air nymphs; Cc and ice shield vs. life.

I think that most elements would be most worried about us bringing DBH since it's one of the stronger decks in War meta, so they might prep a counter, so we could counter their counter.... They might use the another nova-grabby with more CC for a potential oty threat.

What would you think about accellarmagios?  Meat shields could be pretty useful if they bring poisonous creatures, and they'd be resistant to CC. We should test though before deciding.

I just did a couple tests, and maybe I could use a mod of the nova-grabby vs. life (and leave dragon with the DBH)... it didn't do bad so far (hax shield for the win).

Another thing we should figure out soon is which decks/cards to convert.

If we keep to Dragon's suggestions for decks we'd need about: 9 + 10 + 12 + 12 + 10 + 6 (if I use the nova-grabby vs. Life) = 59 pillars/pends. ouch.  We have 6 pends, so we'll need to convert 53 cards.

Another way to think of this is that we're going to use 6 decks at 30 cards each (180 total), so we'll have 89 "extra" cards in our vault (i.e. cards that aren't being used that round).

I agree with Dragon that the Air/Hope module could go (15 cards); I also agree about darkness pillars and black dragons (6 Cards) - saving the nightmares isn't a bad idea, but we'd only use them in a rainbow and with only two copies, it would be an assist at best....  Maybe convert 8 mercs and 7 chargers (15 total).  That brings us to 36 total.  Maybe the Time module (-4 sundials = 11 cards). Then 5 more cards to go....  2 marks and 3 flesh spiders?

Does that work?  Anyone see any problems with that?  Any better alternatives?

I also suggest that Drake or someone else do some testing with the cats-titans build, I was finding that three Titans is woefully inadequate and that upped Animated Weapons allowed it to flow better (especially when expecting PC).

edit: well, my earlier nova-grabby tests seem like a fluke; the deck does wonderful when you pop the novas early, but fails miserably most of the time to various rushes that life might bring.  I'll keep thinking about this.

Yeah, I have no idea how to dump that many cards from the vault.  I'm pretty happy with the suggestions given, or at least as happy as can be given the situation.  Losing the titans means the frozen catatitans deck will change, but it is still a playable deck even unupped, or with AWs and freezes off the mark, or something like that.  Even a deck with titans/bonewalls and AWs might work, at least in Scibra's upgraded hands, or the lieutenants.  I think dumping the time cards (other than sundials) is probably wise.  I'm not sold on dumping the dials, but if we have to, so be it.

Now that I've slept and am looking at my post again, there are a couple errors in terms of discard suggestions.  We'll need 15 mercs to field the decks that Dragon suggested, so we can only lose 6 of them, not 8.  And a math error: 36 + 11 + 5 = 52 not 53.  So we need to find (2 mercs + math derp) 3 more cards to toss.  Ugh.

We lost one titan from the R1 discards, but we would still have plenty of titans if we convert as I suggested (did I misunderstand you there?).  Yeah, losing dials is tough, is there a better alternative to that?
