Title: Titan | Titan
Post by: jmizzle7 on January 12, 2010, 09:42:35 pm
(http://elementscommunity.org/images/Cards/Titan.png)(http://elementscommunity.org/images/Cards/Upgrade.png)(http://elementscommunity.org/images/Cards/TitanUpgraded.png)

Oracle prediction: Your efforts are best focused on tackling great challenges today. You will succeed where others fail.

When animated with Flying Weapon, Titan's stats are 7|50 (unupgraded) or 8|50 (upgraded).
This makes it a great target for Catapult (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/gravity-71/catapult-trebuchet/), Acceleration|Overdrive (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/gravity-71/acceleration-overdrive-19731/) or Gravity Pull (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/gravity-71/gravity-pull-gravity-force-2060/).

When used with flying weapon, the HP of this card are impressive: 50. Using a gravity pull on it is then recommended.

[MOD EDIT : flying Titans now have 50 HP, not 70]

If it is not quintessenced, mutate it! Or you die fast.

Why should someone quintessence a creature with almost as much HP as a player has? :O

To keep it from getting mutated, obviously. :)

Wrong. Unupgraded it is 7/70, upgraded it is 8/70.

Titan + Gravity Pull = Pwnage

What's the best way to try and get this card? I've fought Mas-sa (Level 5) countless times where it never seems to cast it, whilst most other decks do use their respective weapons. Does Mas-sa even have this card but me just being unlucky or am I destined to farming the gravity false god (can't remember the name, but tough for me to beat anyway) and top 50?

Ask in chat or in the T50 thread for someone to put up a Titan farm.

While I see a lot of people saying titan plus gravity pull would be awesome I never see anyone actually use the tactic.

That's because there are many ways to deal with a flying, gravity pulled Titan. Its strength lies in PvP if your opponent is not expecting it.

Flying, gravity-pulled Titan decks usually seem pretty good on paper, but in real games they're not as invincible as they look. There are actually a bunch of ways to deal with a high hp creature (e.g. mutate, rewind, freeze, shockwave, antimatter, etc.). In addition, a flying Titan deck won't be terribly fast so that it's actually possible for the opponent to set up enough continous damage to kill your gravity-pulled Titan relatively quickly (esp. false gods). This causes your killing speed to drop, and eventually you're over-run.

one of the BIG pluses of this card is that it comes in play with a momentum on it :)

Titan + Flying Weapon + Liquid Shadow is pretty fun. Momentum doesn't get overwritten and instead you have a creature with 7 attack that heals you while going through shields. With so many HP that -1 poison each turn is negligeable.

Its a nice card, but is Titan a Hammer or a Sword or a Mace?

I've been trying to make an acceleration/titan anti-FG deck, on the theory that once you have a flying quinted titan it's only a matter of time before you win.  Still tweaking it.

Titan's 50 hp+Momentum+8 dmg when flying is impressive, and acceleration seals the deal, soon growing to 10/49, 12/48, 14/47 and so on.

If you are quoting the upped Titan (I assume so since you used 8 damage) why not use Overdrive instead of Acceleration and get 11|49, 14|48, 17|47, etc.  ?

Either way, It becomes an effective way of grinding your opponent to a pancake and stealing their precious :electrum in the process.
