I just put in this one yesterday, it's at 19 wins 2 losses.  Based on rankings it's getting a decent amount of thumbs up, which surprises me, since it's kind of annoying to play against.  My oracle card was poison.

170 hp, 10 upgraded, 2x mark, dexterity
Put this up yesterday, it's at 7 / 1 so far.
Oracle card was Water Pendulum.  I had just run a Water / Poison deck, and my other favorite element to combine with Water is Fire because of the steam machine.  I think the fire / water lvl 3 AI deck is one of the strongest lvl 3's, and enjoy running with the steam machines for grinding, so it was the obvious choice (even though fire is over-used in the Arena).

I'm just wondering... how do you build a deck that does well in the arena? I've made what I thought were well-thought out mono- :entropy and :gravity decks, which always went at best 1-3. On the other hand, this deck:

went 17-6 with double draw, all upped cards, and something like 120HP.

EDIT: I just submitted a water/light deck... and it's currently 6-0! Will post when it loses (which will inevitably happen :P ).

If you're usually running all-upgraded cards, that could be part of your problem.  It consumes a lot of points.  Starting at over 150 life, even better maxed out at 200, can be a huge advantage for many types of decks.  Think of it as buying an extra couple of turns, which is often enough to make all the difference.

I also try to think about how the deck will play against various popular decks, and even test them out (click on the card image on the lower left hand side of the arena to play against your own deck) against the ones that I can build.  Against ROL you need ways to clear out creatures (which you've got with Pandemonium).  Against control decks you need to be able to wipe out permanents (you've got Butterfly).  Need some defense against fast decks (you're a little light on that, just Maxwell for creature control and Discord to disrupt their game) or be super-fast yourself.

Your mono decks probably have trouble because they can't do all those things.

Best suggestion is to have a couple of popular deck builds (I use a ROL and a Dragon Rainbow) to test your arena deck against, and go from there.

I'd take out the trident, since you can't use it's effect and there are already 2 weapons in it, without a single AW.

My Water/Light deck got off to a roaring start - 11-2 and #68 - and then collapsed.  ::)

Still, I'm trying a similar idea.
