Wtf are all the veteran players doing?

Sadly RL is keeping me from playing much, though I am still keeping tabs on the forum.

Plus I found a new game I'm spending the little free time I do have on!

Nope- I've always played whatever looks interesting on Kong- that's how I found EtG.

There was a game called Elona Shooter up there that was pretty decent, and I tried Elona after it.

And yes, I'm just taking a break from grinding to upgrade my collection. Not quitting.

I thought about joining the Chriskang challenge, but to me, it's more of the same. I've played so long and have played against all of the Chriskang gods as well, and I'm just bored of the same cards over and over.

I have played around in some of the realms for a little bit, but it just wasn't for me. I need new cards.

I tried Elona Shooter. It's interesting, sort of an RPG/tactics/shooter defense thing.

I understand that part of the challenge is designing the decks and such. I retired from grinding false gods a few weeks ago, as I have every upped card in the game x6. If I do play, I play PvP Duel with friends. I mostly just hang out in chat and browse the forums.

That's how I found Elements. I used Kongregate (and now mostly Elements) as a break from my MMORPGing. I am currently playing Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) and Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO), and ready for Star Trek Online (STO). Well, with STO it's not out yet but the game is in closed beta.

I thought the LOTRO servers went down?  I've not met a single person who still played that in years.  The game was fun, but the development team was just horrible.  Lack of REAL end game content harmed the game bigtime though.  Shame, could have been the Tyrant that WoW became had they had a better development team working on it.


I like how in this thread people are literally trying to get people to stop playing the real Elements game and use something similar to a private server.  If this kind of thing were happening in any other game the admins would ban all parties involved.

Not sure if I'm a veteran, but I keep coming up with crazy new deck ideas and therefore am busy testing them in pvp/T50 or farming gods to upgrade them most of the time.

No time for Chriskang's challenge, which does nothing to actually advance my actual account. School/sports/friends keeps me busy, too  .

So, umm, the general consensus is that everyone is away playing other games except for jmiz and the non vets?  That is encouraging.

What I would really like to see is a concerted effort to analyze decks, figuring out what is viable for each element, maybe starting by filling out our mono deck section a little more.  The wiki doesn't seem to be as good a location for discussion and analysis of decks as the forum does.  Maybe, after we get the mono decks figured out, we could move on to presenting viable duo decks.

When all this has started to run its course, we could create a forum seal of approval of some sort, saying that the forum says that deck is a good one.  I think that would help a lot of the newbies in their quest.

Not at all. We're all around playing Elements once in a while. I just finishing some more false god farming for the past couple of hours after watching the new Star Trek movie that just came out on DVD recently.

I was commenting on the fact that it seemed most people in the thread, on a forum devoted to Elements, had moved on to different things.  It seems the general consensus on the forum, however, is that elements is not worth it anymore.

I applaud your taste in movies, btw.  I'll prolly rewatch or buy that soon.

*cringe* I don't think that's a good idea. There are plenty of combinations and good strategies overall, as well as for each quanta type in mono, dual, and triple color decks. And any one deck doesn't have to be a carbon copy of another. If we started churning out decks that get some sort of community consensus for some artificial 'stamp of approval', we'd probably be doing more harm than good. I, for one, don't want to limit people's imaginations. Sure members here will give advice on what might work better, but we shouldn't be building decks for people -- that takes most of the creativity and at least half of the fun out of it.

I guess the point of what I am saying is that the average newbie has no way of differentiating the good decks in the forum from the bad decks.  I like that skillgannon has created a series of decks for a specific purpose, with his seal of approval.  Maybe we should get some of the old fogies (looking at you, jmiz) around to post a few basic decks.  People come into chat all the time asking, "What is a good earth deck?".  I look around the forum, wondering what they would see if they were here looking for deck ideas.  The answer is, not much.

My frustration stems from a lack of good resources and organization when it comes to creating anything other than a God farming deck.

Not a unupped starting strategy, lots of unupped starting strategies.  Maybe we should have a topic for upped strats, and unupped strats.
