It really depends on the deck. Some decks, like my Mono-Fire deck use 14-15+ pillars in a 35 card deck. Other decks may only need 8-10 in a 40 card deck, and some decks don't use any pillars, regardless of their deck size.

Really, the only way to figure it out is to take your deck and play a bunch af matches. If it seems like you are generally not getting enough quantum, add a few pillars. If it seems like you are consistently having a fair overflow of quantum, take a few out. Alternatively, you can check out the wiki and copy/paste one of the decks listed there.

How would you make a deck with no pillars? Load it with novas? How would that win ever?

Is there a sweet spot percentage-wise for pillar/card number in a deck like MTG?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I did a little more research. While the game has MTG roots certain things aren't the same. I actually like it better.

0-pillar deck? Nova -> Cheap creatures -> Immolation

Ash eaters, Air mark and upped fireflies, light mark and rustlers/leaf dragon

and probably a few more.

The problem right now is that it is basically impossible to find a sweet spot, at least for me.
Playing games against AI 3 with an FFQ build, I usually win, then I get totally trashed because I got 11/12 air towers and not a single Life tower.
Other games it might be the other way around, and most of the times, even if I am not satisifed, I get a steady amount of towers that makes me crush the opposition.

Even more fun is it spawning all my 6 empaths, and then maybe 15 pillars before I even get 1 creature, but that doesn't happen that often luckily.
Right now I am currently satisfied with winning more than loosing, knowing that loosing only comes from messed up randomness.
