When did the AI get smart? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=5829.msg59754#msg59754
« on: April 27, 2010, 06:57:12 am »
I was doing a top 50 farm, and the comp used eternity at the end to reverse its own cards at the end to not card out.  This is the first time I've seen that happen. I don't play that much, but I have a pretty much upgraded rainbow deck, so I've played top 50 alot. Just wondering if this is something new or not.

Go check out the thread on AI improvement under patch notes and development news.  Chriskang has been working to improve the quality of the AI system.  You should check the thread out so that you can see what updates have been suggested/implemented as well as inputting your own opinions or suggestions, but yes the AI has definitely been getting a revamping.

I always answer "Maybe you have just become dumber?" to questions like this. :)

But that deck-out prevention is pretty cool indeed. Haven't seen that happen myself. I'd like to see AI use more little tricks like that one.

I am pretty sure that it comes with the 1.22 update.

But well, we all know that it is just a matter of time, isn't it?  ;)

Chriskang has been working to improve the quality of the AI system.
I don't think so. Chriskang had been missing for a long while now; our current theory is that he got hit by a bus and then eaten by a raptor :P I think Zanz did all the work.

If the AIs ever get perfect human intelligence, we're screwed... :P
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

I find that the AI consistently uses Eternity to avoid decking out in the Top50 games I've been doing over the last week.  A nice touch, certainly!

The only AI issue that continues to happen is when it steal my lobomatizer then it will switch to a hammer or something similar.
