Steal vs Sundial/Cloak https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=32579.msg411465#msg411465

I just found that when I stole Jezebel's Cloak, the timer reset to 3 regardless of how many turns were left.

I opened Trainer and tested Sundial, Cloak, Dimensional shield and Wings. Sundial and Cloak both had their timers reset when stolen (stealing your own did not reset the timer, however). Dimensional shield and Wings did not have their timers reset.

I don't recall this happening in the past, but I could very well be wrong.

As to why it reset cloak i have no idea. Ive always seen that as a clear bug. And why it reset sundial, well, i view this as one of those weird "just because it does" moments as elements have several of. Some might argue it is to enable darkness to use the sundial on its next turn because when stolen it gets summoning sickness and it getting destroyed would make it pointless to steal it.

I think of it as a bug though.

For Sundial, I always figured it as simply that if it didn't work that way then stealing a sundial would be almost literally worthless. it'd last on your turn still and would thusly stall your creatures still, but wouldn't stall the opponents creatures another turn. And of course you wouldn't be able to draw a card. The 'only' thing it does is prevent the opponent from using the 1 light to draw a card next turn ability. So even if it is a bug for sundial, it probably should stay.

Cloak I'm not so sure about, that feels like it should be more akin to Dim Shield when stolen.

I suppose I should have posted this in the Bug Reports, but I wasn't entirely sure that it was a bug or if it had changed recently. I seemed to recall Cloak working like Dim shields when playing against Jezebel previously.

Just played with Dimensional shields in the trainer with stealing.

Normally Dim shields would:
Turn 1) Play Dimensional shield. Timer reduced to 2 at end of turn.
AI 1) Nothing
Turn 2) Timer reduced to 1 at end of turn.
AI 2) Nothing
Turn 3) Timer reduced to 0 at end of turn.
AI 3) Nothing
Turn 4) Destroyed at end of turn.

However when stealing:
Turn 1) Play Dimensional shield. Timer reduced to 2 at end of turn.
AI 1) Steal Dimensional shield. Timer reduced to 1 at end of turn.
Turn 2) Steal Dimensional shield. Timer reduced to 0 at end of turn.
AI 2) Steal Dimensional shield. Destroyed at end of turn.

Based on this, stealing a Sundial shouldn't allow you to use Hasten (due to summoning sickness when stealing, as Rastafla said) but should allow your creatures to attack this turn as the Sundial will be destroyed. This would be the similar to if you had played the Sundial the turn before; your creatures can attack the following turn, the same turn you are able to use Hasten and the same turn the Sundial is destroyed.
