This topic arose in chat when I wondered who would win in the following scenario:

Player 1 has a giant frog on the field and 5 health. It is his turn.
Player 2 has a gravity pulled voodoo doll on the field and has 5 poison counters on himself (the player) and has 5 health remaining.

Who wins when player 1 ends his turn?

Terroking had a related idea right after this:

Player 1 has an unstable gas and 1 health.
Player 2 has a voodoo doll and 20 health.

What happens when player 1 ends his turn?

GG and Kills are testing the first scenario now I believe, and hopefully will test the second. If you can think of any more scenarios in which the outcome of the game would be debatable, post them here, along with the "answer" if you can.

Edit: Never mind, GG and Kills aren't testing this. So if anyone wants to, go ahead.

The scenario they are testing is:

Player 1 has an antimattered creature in slot 1.
Player 2 has lower health than they have poison counters.

In fact, the idea was proposed by jmizzle (I think. I know Gli1tch was going to help test it, so it could have been his) but I don't remember the outcome, or even if there was one.

How much health does player two have? I know that poison takes effect before creature attacks, so it just depends on whether he has more or less than five HP.

Jmizzle and I ended up testing the Voodoo Doll+UG situation.  I think he was gonna post something about it.  I completely forgot about it till I saw this.  I forgot a lot, but I do remember that there was a delay in seeing your damage go down from hitting their Voodoo Dolls (we played mirror decks).  I think you were damaged by your opponent's Voodoo Dolls on his turn, not yours.  Don't quote me on that though.  It was a while back that we tested this.  I also remember the last game we played, we both ended up having the winning screen when the game finished.  He had enough Voodoo Dolls to kill me and he was killed by my UG plus my Voodoo Dolls.  So yeah . . .

Well then, I haven't tested, but every time I've taken note, poison damage happens before creature damage(and gravity pull doesn't affect poison, does it?). I may be missing something, though.

Well, we aren't sure if the poison damage happens first or if it happens at the same time as the first attack. Kills says the latter, which is why he and GG are testing the antimatter situation. But if they do happen at the same time, in the first situation I mentioned, Player 2's health would go to 0 due to poison, and Player 1's health would go to 0 due to the gravity pulled doll + giant frog, and they would happen at the same time.

Actions never happen at the same time. All algorithms are executed action after action. It's just a matter of finding the order of these.

Yep, I also though that poison strikes before creatures..
