Not to forget Shard of Patience as a counter to Shard of Sacrifice.
Once or twice I actually threw in a lone shard of patience in decks that otherwise didn't use it, like cremation rush, to mess up the timing of players using shard of sacrifice. I have no idea if it helped or not.
I'm not sure which card I picked earlier, but I think Black Hole is one of my top ones. (and by extension, amber nymph) Recently, I had two arena decks where they were monofire dragon rush, and monoair wyrm rush, respectively, except for six (x2 = 12) black holes cast off a triple mark. They both had >40 wins and 5-10 losses before I took them down, and they were decks that probably wouldn't have broken the top 100 if they'd been straight monos, because the black hole spam buys 3-4 turns to set up in which the player can do absolutely nothing.
Earthquake is another one I hate, but it's a little easier to counter; a turn 1 protect artifact is easier than a turn 1 sanctuary, and PA cannot be removed, whereas sanctuary can be destroyed. (pillar/pend split or pillarless decks are also valid defenses) Even monos suffer when spammed with early black holes, though not to such an extreme. Duo decks like SPlat get hurt pretty bad by black hole, since you can't get momentum out, for instance, and my personal favourite, rainbow control, totally bends over to black hole unless you get a quick sanc out.
