So is it normal to only get 18 cr for winning against a level 5. It seems that I have been getting sub 30 for the last few days pretty regularly. But 18 really? That seems like a slap in the face.

The amount you win is a function of your health at the end of the match : if you win with 1HP, your gain will be incredibly lower than if you won withh 99hp. If you win with max hp, it's an em, and you win twice the electrum. If your hp is over 100, you gain even more (and even more if you em with max hp > 100).

So my guess is your hp is rather low at the end of matches.

Ah I c. I missed that in the rules of the game. Really changes how I want to design a deck now...

Some people me included wants that to change. Its not fair to beat a ai5 and get less than what you get from ai3.

I wish the win gain were fixed instead (double reward for EM as always), but instead there were many smaller benefits like, playing only cards from one element +3 coins, only use spell and perms +3 coins, end game with 50+ surplus quanta +3 coins etc. The rewards or bonus needn't be fixed either, they could fluctuate between 1-5 coins and the bonuses could change from month to month or similar to make decks change and evolve.
I know its practically impossible with how the game is built but nevertheless.

At the core lies the following; I consider the return of :electrum in relation to how much HP you have left to be a wall, a block in deckbuilding, a factor that penalise and limits the possible diversity of decks while playing vs the AI.
