I liked majofa's layout, so I'll be ripping it off.
Gaccel (Gargoyle - Gravity Mark)
HP: 100
Mark: x1
Draw: x1
"Gargoyles aren't too fast, being statue-like and all, now imagine if you Accelerated them."
INITIAL REACTION:
There's no change from base stats, which makes me wonder how much testing was done; Accelerated Gargoyles is a trio, after all, and choosing a Gravity mark instead of an Earth mark may make balancing quanta difficult. There were some grammar errors in the description, but they weren't too bad. Perhaps the worst part of all of this is the horrible, horrible pun that is this deck's name.
AFTER PLAYING:
Weird quanta base. Earth Pillars and Pends, Obsidian Pillars and Dark Pends. AI accelerates Gargoyles before using stone form, but it seems the creator anticipated this and put in a few Plate Armors beforehand. Still, if you already know the AI doesn't use stone form in time you may as well accelerate some creature other than Gargoyle.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Stonewall (Iridium Warden - Earth Mark)
HP: 100
Mark: x2
Draw: x1
"Replace me with an interesting description!"
INITIAL REACTION:
I suspect I'll end up copy-pasting that description at least once in this post. Hopefully the deck's better, but I doubt it. I'm guessing the deck's a mono-
with Warden/Shield/Earthquake/Basilisk Blood/Stone Skin.
AFTER PLAYING:
Warden/Stone Skin... and nothing else.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Swarm of Dragonflies (Dragonfly - Air Mark)
HP: 60
Mark: 1x
Draw: 2x
"That's not a cloud! That's a freaking dragonfly swarm!"
INITIAL REACTION:
Fractal Damselfly with Sky Blitzes.
AFTER PLAYING:
Another mono-
. Another
freaking mono-
. Very dull; I counted all of five different cards used, including quanta sources. Could use some CC, but early shield made me lose by one turn anyways.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Rare Nest (Fire Pillar - Mark of Fire)
HP: 100
Mark: x3
Draw: x1
"You have stumbled upon the nest of a rare bird."
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
Phoenix will obviously be present. It's either mono-
or Fractix.
AFTER PLAYING:
Minor Phoenix, Ash (the card), and... Holy Flash? There were seventeen cards in the deck. It discarded on the first turn; it's apparently a pillarless deck. Seeing the AI play Ashes and Holy Flashes was amusing, but Holy Flash doesn't seem to fit thematically. It's not like the AI has lower HP than normal, either, so the deck doesn't have much use for them.
RATING:
Thumbs up, if only for novelty.
Got matched up against Stonewall again. Surrendered immediately without rating.
Drake (Black Dragon - Darkness Mark)
HP: 125
Mark: 2x
Draw: Could not tell
"A majestic beast, it seeks to increase the size of its Electrum hoard."
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
duo with Electrum Hourglasses? Might be interesting to play against and would fit well thematically.
AFTER PLAYING:
Another mono; this time it's
. A bit low on quanta. Played all of six different cards including quanta sources. I'm guessing from the presence of liquid shadows that it was meant to be a dragon+liquid shadow deck, but I never saw any dragons. This one is even worse than the mono-
from last time, since at least that deck worked.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Shadow King (Steal - Chroma Mark)
HP: 150
Mark: 2x
Draw: 1x
"Stealthy yet bold, this mysterious figure lures you into the shadows easily. Pay attention - he likes to take what isn't his..."
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
Mindgate deck with rainbow utility cards paid from the mark, including lots of Steals.
AFTER PLAYING:
Another mono-
. Whyyyyy are you doing this to me? Six different cards used.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Lighter (Unstable Gas - Air Mark)
HP: 65
Mark: 1x
Draw: 2x
"Replace me with an interesting description!"
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
I KNEW IT.
AFTER PLAYING:
Air Nymphs were a surprise. I was expecting from the small deck size that it was a 1x draw deck, but apparently it's a 2x draw with a low number of cards. Elite fireflies were used to ignite the gases. It wasn't actually all that bad overall, despite my initial worries due to the description.
RATING:
Thumbs up.
Suspicious Villager (Dagger - Earth Mark)
HP: 120
Mark: 1x
Draw: 1x
""No no, this is just my three-day-beard!""
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
From the description and the card image I'm not sure what to expect... unless it's a SoV deck. It's an SoV deck, isn't it?
AFTER PLAYING:
A really weird rainbow deck that used lots of little creatures: Parasite, Werewolf (the only card I saw that was upped), and Gnome Rider. Shard of Patience and Dagger were never seen, so I'm confused. In the end, I'm curious about what the deck is trying to do, but the fact I still don't know that after the game's over clearly indicates that whatever it tried to do, it didn't do it very well.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Old AI3 Fire/Darkness (Fire Bolt - Fire Mark)
HP: 100
Mark: 1x
Draw: 1x
"Replace me with an interesting description!"
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
Gotta love the classics.
AFTER PLAYING:
Only got out one Burning Pillar, and I never saw any Darkness stuff at all.
RATING:
Left without rating; it wouldn't feel right to rate this deck. Most people rated it up, though. I checked back with the Load by Name function, and apparently the game doesn't register whether the deck won or lost if it's not rated.
Voidor
HP: 65
Mark: 1x
Draw:
"Replace me with an interesting description!"
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
Again!? Gee, for some weird reason I get the feeling this is another mono-
with SoV. Not sure why.
AFTER PLAYING:
/
duo. Thunderbolts and Dim Shields were used to stall. *yawns* Amazingly boring... but fairly well-built.
RATING:
On the fence, but thumbs up. It worked well and isn't too common.
Chendryl v.2 (Dimensional Shield - Aether Mark)
HP: 20
Mark: x5
Draw: x1
"She lives in another dimension. It will be very hard to hit her."
INITIAL REACTION:
Probably Silences and Dim Shield spam.
AFTER PLAYING:
Silences, Dim Shields and nothing else. Yawn.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Prism (Photon - Chroma Mark)
HP: 60
Mark: x3
Draw: x2
"Sometimes crystals of a particularly magical resonance absorb enough quantum from the surrounding environment to take on a life of their own, shaping themselves into crude humanoid form and maneuvering themselves with their meager awareness. They are high in magical energy but are poorly focused and lack the intelligence to use more advanced spells."
INITIAL REACTION:
Shard Golem deck? Doesn't explain the Photon, though.
AFTER PLAYING:
Rainbow using elemental pillars instead of Quantum Pillars. The fact that there's a x3 Mark of Chroma and only cheap cards are used means that that ended up not mattering; it got enough quanta to play everything from the mark alone, with pillars doing nothing. Not a bad idea, but very poor implementation.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
Spellmaster (Parallel Universe - Aether Mark)
HP: 100
Mark: x1
Draw: x1
INITIAL REACTION:
Hey, I remember this deck!
AFTER PLAYING:
Worked about as well as I'd expect.
RATING:
Thumbs up.
Luminiferous Newbie (Aether Pillar - Aether Mark)
HP: 70
Mark: x1
Draw: x1
"Got PC? Cause the dim-shield is soooooo OP!!!
"
INITIAL REACTIONS:
Oh god no.
AFTER PLAYING:
I played this in the trainer before and it impresses me no more now than it did back then.
RATING:
Thumbs down.
More later.
