Using Elements alternatively on two different computers? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=34220.msg431609#msg431609

Hello,

i´ve just tried out to play ETG on two different machines here at home to figure out on which one the game would run faster and smoother. I played a game on computer #1, then a game on #2, then again on #1, and so on for like three or four times.

What surprised me: although both games connected to the database, apparently the electrum-counters did not interact. this means: #1 finished a game at roundabout 1290. then i loaded the game at #2 and won a half blood, which brought me 90 with the spins included, totaling in 1380. afterwards, i got back to #1, even reloaded the url, and still got shown the 1290 electrum counter.

Has anyone a hint what is going on? Or is it generally a bad idea to be logged on on more than on machine?

It's generally a bad idea to be logged in on two places (or different browsers) at once, since the game will not save your progress if it detects two logins on the same account.

Yeah, strange things happen if you're logged in from two computers at once.  I normally leave my home computer on all the time, and I played a couple games from work once while logged in at home, and the progress wasn't saved.  I've also heard horror stories about people losing spun nymphs this way, so beware :)

As far as I understanded it, every time you get that "Saved" letter up, the game is overwriting your previous information, with the current information in that comp. Meaning the last computer to Save a game will stay in the database, while whatever you did in the other one will be lost in the ether...
Anyways, using Elements in 2+ computers is a bad idea.

wow, that seems...prone to misuse.

anyway, thanks for the answers. i hope i saved the better on of the two game series, even if the difference was marginal. and from now on only single-login, got it.
