I'm not sure this is a bug, so I'm not putting it in the Bugs thread.
I've searched the forum and haven't found anything that discusses exactly this.

I guess the overriding question is this:  What is the definition of Elemental Mastery?  Is it having greater than or equal to 100 health at the end of a match, or is it having the health bar completely full?

The reason I ask is I've been grinding AI3 with an adrenaline-vamp-TU combo deck with pretty good EM results.  I figured a SoD would help even more, for those occasions I've won with 95+ health because the AI dies before all my vamps heal me.  Winning with the full 120 health yields a payout of 44 electrum, but if I win with 103 it gives me 21 (+1 for every 5 over 100).  This makes it better to win with 100 than it does with 119.  Is this an intended strategic piece of the game, or something that should be looked at and changed?

The definition of an EM is finishing with full health, If you raise your max health to 150, and you have 130/150 right now, then you are not at full health. EM is 150/150 or however much your current max hp is.And yes, this is intentional.

Agreed, I just find it strange that the game penalizes you for having >100% of your original health.
Just another layer of strategy, I suppose.

It isn't penalising you. The SoD heals you the same amount it raises your maximum life, so to EM you need only play as well as you would otherwise (excepting the three generic quanta you spent on the shard).

I see it the other way around, it rewards the effort of keeping HP at 100%... no "punishment" at all. The whole winning thing is an accomplishment by itself :b

It's harder to keep it at 100% otherwise everyone can just spam shard of divinity and stone/granite skin until they boost their hp to 200 or something.

People don't, max hp is 540. Miracle + 1 creature + feral bond = auto em. (as long as you don't kill the person with poison.)

People don't, max hp is 540. Miracle + 1 creature + feral bond = auto em. (as long as you don't kill the person with poison.)

Start with 100 HP plus 6 maxed granite skins =300, 100+300=400
400 + 6 Divinities (20 each) =520 HP Max
