Rank troubles... UnholyDerp! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=48309.msg1058111#msg1058111

So, As many of you in the IRC chatroom, My name is UnholyAir (Yes, I started with Air) and I was recently working on many FG-Farming decks. I found one that works but at what cost? This cost.

As of 4/7/13 my rank is -5K more or less and I'd like to raise it so I can get into the arena.

How should I raise it?

Dont worry. It only affects your arena deck.
My 3 game-modification principles:
1. If it ain't broke, don't wreck it.
2. Simple fixes for simple problems.
3. Remember to fill in the holes.

...That's the point. He/she wants to submit good arena decks.

High level arena helps make oodles of score, but FG farming is probably better because gold/plat can be luck-based and really hard for most decks.

Who said my name?!?
Oh.. a derp....
might as well help...
Some options....

(1) Build a deck that's designed to beat the Level 3 as quickly as possible, and grind AI3.
(2) Build a deck that's designed to get Elemental Mastery (that is, beating the other guy when you have 100% of your health points) in Level 3, and grind AI3.
(3) Build a deck for farming Half Bloods, and grind there. While previously these opponents were not worth grinding, a recent HP reduction has made them arguably more effective to grind than AI3.
(4) Build a deck for speed-farming False Gods and save up ~2000 :electrum. The point here is to play as fast as you can (forfeiting to False Gods your deck can't beat, and playing the ones your deck can beat) in hopes of winning an upgraded card from the spins. You can then either keep the card, or sell it for over 1000 :electrum.
(5) Build a deck for farming PvP1. This will increase your score more efficiently until you reach a positive score. The main problem here being that it isn't considered as efficient as the previous options for making :electrum. You will not get anywhere close to 90% win rate. Overall, this is a discouraged option.

He'd lose a ton of score doing this, which is exactly why he needs something else

Any of Tribal's other options should work. I'd personally recommend PvP1, because it scales based off score, so you'll usually get a larger boost from it than ai3.

PvP1 is wonderful for score up until the point where you have a higher average score than most of the opponents playing in PvP1. In my experience, this point is somewhere around 1k-2k score (depending on who's playing at that particular moment). Just about every basic unupped rush will have a high win rate in PvP1.

Once you've hit the point where you're higher level than the average opponent, AI3 is a great option, but silver is actually faster I'm pretty sure (and I'm pretty sure it's by a relatively sizable amount) - monodark is a wonderful option against silver, as is antabow (or whatever grabbow you like). Please note that silver isn't better than bronze at rares, since you're looking at a ~47% win rate with monodark (with a reasonably high EM rate) and a ~50% win rate with antabow, but you will still get some rares, and your score will go up quickly.

All in all, though, I would really recommend just not even paying attention to score. You're a lot better off focusing on gaining electrum at the early parts of the game, and score will come with it. You'll fairly quickly get away from ever needing to play the things that are a net loss of score. Arena is great fun (really, it's my favorite part of the game by a wide margin) but you're not going to make any real money out of it until you're in the higher leagues (and even then, it's less money than like a half hour of grinding). The main benefit of arena is practice at building decks using cards (i.e. the oracle card) that you wouldn't necessarily otherwise consider, and you can get this benefit regardless of the bonuses your deck has.

TL;DR: PvP1 until 1-2k score, then ai3 (for easy, steady gain) or silver (for less easy, but quicker gain). But best option IMO is to just completely ingore score and focus on money - score will come.

Never really paid attention to score but early game pvp1 is also good for money if you win often enough better than silver but for rares arena is your best bet. AI3 is the best bet for steady gain indeed but i mainly use them to make some quick money after a spate of losses or a misjudged upgrade, it depends what you are able to beat electrum gain from bronze is just a bit higher than AI3 but slightly harder to beat but both can be beaten reliably by basically the same decks.
love makin my decks unusual if able. Chaos and luck are widely regarded as different i beg to differ just refer to :entropy but for those in the know also refer to :time and :death.
