Yes but upped Vampire Stilletto is a decent weapon. I suppose my point is that if the "Rare" weapons are no longer rare replace them with ones that are. Maybe nerf them slightly and bring in something new with a better ability.

So the new Pulveriser equilvalent may have the Earthquake ability on top of being able to destroy permanents (ie. If Target is a Pillar destroy up to 3. If target is Permanent destroy it)

Or something like that.

To me all the options except for removing spins from top 50 are just a temporary bandaid and might make things worse. Pretty much like how the US put laws on slavery to balance things out as a bandaid, but the topic of slavery keeps reappearing in Congress. The same goes for here. Pretty soon this topic will reoccur even if it is fixed using one of these solutions, so my answer is:

Remove Rares from spins in top 50 and PvP.

There could still be regular or maybe even elite cards in the spins, but I believe that removing rares would allow them to be truly rare without having to worry about putting a balancing bandaid.

how are we going to get them then, besides ai farming, which is INCREDIBLY boring

Remember though, while there are many people that know and understand rare farms, there are at least double of those who dont. Newcomers to the game don't know about those things often. Removing rares from the spins is a good idea, but with future rares only. The 'rares' that are already pretty common should just stay in the t50, there would be no fair point to remove them. So many people have them already, they aren't really that rare at all. Might as well let everyone collect them the easy way instead of giving a big fat middle finger to newcomers.

hmm yes that brings up the other issue of how to get rares except through grinding.

I think more quests could be the answer. The other way is to use the Spin from FG for T50 and AI 5 for PvP then there is at least a higher chance of rare/upped cards turning up.

I am not agianst spins at all. I think the T50 Farm is an issue for some but can be easily sorted and as to PvP spin you only get it in random anyway.

So in short there has to be a way to get Rares and the boosters are a good way to work it out.

Ok OK no need to yell.

We could remove spins and yes that makes it a little easier to keep rares but personally I don't like the idea of no rewards. SO my proposal would be to keep spins but have them as generic spins (same as you get from AI 3) that way you still get a reward but the farms don't become an issue anymore.

I made it larger so my post wouldn't be lost. :P And did you even read my entire post? I put remove rare cards from spins. Kind of like how nymphs are removed. Nothing else would be moved, possibly elites, but idk.

Any other rare cards will be discovered and posted on wiki soon enough anyways.

As for grinding rares, there's always a better quest system...

in my opinion
1: People who are generous will still post up farm decks, and i "collect" rare cards even though i know i would rarely use them, it doesnt matter if rare cards are powerful relative to common cards or not.
2. This may results in more complaining, but overall a good idea.
3. Then rare cards will become "expensive" cards rather than "rare cards" :P
4. A complete solution, but one one will farm t50 since the reward is low. New players will complain a lot after this.

I voted #1, though #4 could also be made to work: we'd just need an alternate way for newcommers to get the rares. (Could be slower, but shouldn't be crippling.)

What if the rare weapons quest was repeatable - with the score required for each new weapon four times the last one (it starts at 500). That would give everyone the handfull of rare weapons to build a rainbow, at least.

And what if rare farms weren't eliminated altogether, just made... rarer? Have some server-side code check each top50 deck. If it's a rare farm decrease the encounter frequency to 5% of the original ... or 1% if it's also made from incompatible pillars. Since many non-rare farms have rares (flying weapon decks have weapons, many many decks have SoG) these would therefore still be obtainable, just not from farms.
