The blue-flamed torch

The Champion for Aether looked up. It was always cloudy on the Ethereal Plateau, but today the clouds crackled with a light more brilliant than the sun. It was the signal that had been long awaited. He took the blue-flamed torch, and began to run.

The Winged representative of Air had been scrying the road for a long time, and so he'd seen the champion's run from a long way off. Soon enough, the time had come. He took the torch in both hands, and soared towards the next stop.

The Veil loomed over the hooded man as he waited patiently. Several gusts blew in his face, but the last rekindled his flicker of hope. The Winged carrier swooped down, and with one swift motion the torch passed into the realm of eternal darkness, bringing the light back after many ages.

Mysterious things are happening.
