Shards in tournaments (another solution idea)

I thought if we voted before the tournament that would get votes that really mattered and could correct case sensitive tournaments. Lots of new players dont have the shards and/or the weapons, so if voting on them before the tournament happened then we could see only opinions that mattered. We, the elements community, ask that you please only vote if your participating. The only draw back to this idea though is the time of the voting. Some tournaments are just "show up 15 minutes before the tournament if you want to play." So we would need to set up a time for the voting and how long it would last. This also encourages people to come on time, because most of the time we have late entrees that still get to play to fill up slots or because its still 1 minute before the tourny and the TO is still making brackets or whatever. This might still happen, but now there's a chance that they don't get to vote. The only annoying question that this solution would arouse is "are shards allowed?". Well, if people who didn't show up on time wern't allowed to play then this wouldn't even matter. It would be an annoying one, but I think the solution to that would just be announcing if shards are allowed once the results are in and counted for, the TO would say if the shards are allowed. Then once again right before announcing that the tournament has began. This would also make it so people were more apt to see that the tournament has began too.

If this were to happen it would mean that people would have either 15 mins to make sharded decks or have 5 decks that they wouldn't be able to use. My suggestion would be to have one in the thread as soon as it is made so people in it can check how the results are and make decks accordingly.

The 15 minutes is just an example, the TO would be in charge of how much time is given. But idk how much time would be convenient.

I think this would be good if tournaments were actully unrestricted. But as you know, they are usually very focused and many strong cards are banned. It is made in order to make tournaments more interesting by changing typical meta. Thus shards, as the most strong cards, should be forbidden as it is now.

Anyway, I only can consider such the voting viable in speedbuilding tourneys.

Your idea has another flaw. Thinking that 15 of the people who voted wanted shards, and 6 people voted against it. So those people have the choice to either play with shards now or leave. People without many shards probably wouldn't want to play since all other players have an advantage. So they leave, obviously.
---> The problem with that isn't that they "can't" play the tournament, the problem is that they didn't know it before that they "couldn't" play. So instead of looking once a week if the tournament suits them, they would have to wait till the tournament starts to know "all the rules" and if they should/want to play or not.
