1: No.
2: Actually, it's because permanent destruction is so useful that people find ways to destroy them.  Yes, it's a common method of partially countering them, but most cards can be countered easily.
3: I didn't say it was hard, just too hard for the cost.
4: I was talking about the firebolts specifically, because that's what does "1-turn damage rampages".  Anyway, why does healing at beginning vs. end of your turn matter except for ele mastery?  It's not like you get damaged in between.

The only things with a comparable damage for the price are weapons, which aren't directly stackable, and don't have a multiplying effect with other cards.  Two quanta is just too cheap for five damage a turn.  You can't find any creature that strong for that price.

It's not like you'll get to play all 6 on your first turn anyways, anyways its only 5 each. an early pulvy would make shards useless

3. My point still stands. SoG is definitely not impossible or even very difficult to get through.
SoG alone is not.  But healing when you're sitting behind a Phase Shield, a massive Bone Wall, or even just Procrastination is significantly more effective than a plain SoG.

Really, the thing that makes SoG important is nothing about it's power -- it's the cost.  By giving all elements access to healing, SoG can synergize with stuff like Sundial and Diamond Shield with an ease that no Life card will ever have.
