Antimatter + Monster Attacking Phase = Successful Attack??

When I was fighting Scorpio, I Antimattered one of his Puffer Fish, and it keep adding poison counter. Why this happens? Why Antimatter + Monster Attacking Phase = Successful Attack??

Because it is a succesful attack just one that deals negative damage.

It's basically like, oh, this creature is going to heal me, better not block it. Although this doesn't make sense for phase shields since you're in another dimension...

Pufferfish applies poison when it attacks.

Yep, I even packed antimatter to use it on my dune scorpions in the entropy trial.
