Fire Storm targets the individual slots. The only reasoning we have for this is that it doesnt hurt immaterial creatures. Chimera on the other hand just destroys your field.

Fire Shield hurts immaterial because they have to reappear before they attack. Flooding doesnt kill immaterial creatures because...?

Eclipse Effects all creatures on the field, meanwhile Sky Blitz doesn't effect immaterials.

It may just be me, but it seems like there really isnt a set rule for this... Sure we can make claims on logic. I mentioned a few of those here. However, it really becomes a stretch on the imagination when trying to make immaterial monsters make sense

Flooding doesnt kill immaterial creatures because...?
I'm pretty sure flooding kills immaterial creatures. Or was that sarcasm?

Consistency note: this might be a completely coicindental thing, but cards like eclipse, flooding, fire shield might effect quinted creatures because they are in need of a buff. Flooding after 1 (or is it 2) buffs is still a very un-used card, it needs all the boost it can get. I remember firestorm being a very, very widely used card, almost a staple along with your otyugh/ffq/druid, which is why it might fail vs quinted creatures.

As I stated, these might be inconsistencies, on-purpose, or an inconsistency allowed to stand on purpose.

Its all about Targeting.

Firestorm Targets each individual creature and then deals damage to it, its not all simultaneous. Its why a vulture in a later slot may grow and survive the storm even if it was 0/1 to begin with.
Eclipse is a lasting effect, Skyblitz is a once-off targeting all.
Shields used to target and now do not.
Flooding targets and destroys like the old shields used to.

If anything, the text on the cards needs to match the effect or at least be more descriptive of the effect.
Immaterial itself works and is defined fine.

Im fairly certain that immaterial creatures dont die in flooding... i tried to confirm it in the trainer however, the ai didnt play flooding even with immaterial creature at the bottom row (perhaps because it wont work? Needs comfirmation).

Im very aware of the actual game mechanics behind it, and even RoF can be understood without knowing mechanics. Skyblitz when you compare its effect to nightfall, the only difference is the length. And then take flooding into account (which im still assuming doesnt effect immaterial unless I have definite confirmation) length doesnt even really matter.

Immaterial creatures don't die in flooding, having played with Timebows against Neptune countless times I can easily confirm that :p
Sky Blitz indeed doesn't make sense to me, though I could understand CC not hitting immaterial creatures (which does not explain thorn carapace/fire shield, probably just to nerf immaterialness). Since Sky Blitz is underused, I could easily see it affecting immaterial creatures in some future update (or getting a cost buff? Who knows).
