Im sorry but no puppy, many times people have quit on me and it still goes the whole 60 seconds and the extra 10 before CPU takes over (i know they quit because it happened to be someone in my kong elements chat room).

I do agree however, that if i KNOW im going to lose in 1-3 turns with no hope i usually leave.  But i never leave cause i THINK theres no hope (like some people who leave on turn 6)

Impossible to cure, I would say.

1) Desync.
2) Wherever you go, there will always be people who are just sore losers, taking pleasure from annoying everyone else. It's unavoidable in a PvP system like this. The best way to handle this is to simple be patient with them.

That being said, does any turn in Elements really require 60 seconds? I mean, I'm sure people have to think before moving, but the time should still probably be reduced, if only to keep people on their toes. 45 seconds sounds good; I'd even press for 40.

Then that's a desync problem that should be fixed :), since it's supposed to display "Your Opponent Has Left the Game."

When I find myself completeley cornered and death is a solid fact... I send a message complimenting my random PVPer's deck, or a mere GG if i'm not in the mood.
Then I surrender. And I don't feel guilty or coward whatsoever. Time is electrum :D

I do, however, despise early quitters, and sore losers.

anything wrong with that? nay? ok.
So, tell me my friend, what can you see? What comes into your mind as you breathe?

This is only an issue with random pvp I think.
I don't have this problem. I always play the match out unless the opponent is a slowpoke that always takes 50-60 sec to make his/her turn. Then I have no qualms with leaving.

I always start each match with "Good luck and have fun!". I get a reply in 1/4 games and 1 in 10 I get profanity back. This is more disturbing to me than the leaving.

And yes quite many leave when they see Towers and Elite creatures...
i don't do a ton of pvp but when I do I always try to start a friendly conversation or say goodluck and getting profanity back just reminds me that 11 year olds play this game too

Yeah, I'm sure that's what the quitters tell themselves. :)

"I'm not quitting because I cannot take a loss like a man and I want to annoy my opponent one last time, I'm quitting because I'm helping him to win faster!"

Unfortunately it's BS. I can guarantee that playing those 3 turns is faster than letting the AI take over.
Well for the record I've never quit in pvp.  I was just noting that the difference in time spent may be a nonfactor.

Wow.  I've played a lot of pvp, always start with a "hi and good luck," and have never gotten profanity in response.  A couple times I've gotten back "I don't need luck" or "Your teh won whos gonna nned lcuk."

You're confusing quitting with disconnecting. When you press "Menu" and "Quit," the opponent gets a message "Your Opponent has Left the Game. Taking over in 10 seconds..."

So it actually ends up being faster for your opponent since they then don't have to wait the 20-30 seconds each turn for you to play.
Can't argue with that logic.  He is the Master of Time, after all...

Should it be considered poor PvP etiquette if, on their last turn, somone plays their first damage dealer? This in effect "denies" the opposing player elemental mastery and quite a few electrum. Sure, many people might not be thinking about it in those terms, but I've always held back from destroying EM when I know I cannot win. I see this a lot when I use rush decks and it always feels like the ultimate in sour grapes to me, regardless if the opponent was aware of what s/he was doing.

This is a great question.  I intentionally avoid playing damage when I'm about to be EM'd.  I'd guess that new players don't even think about it.

You know, I never really thought about it that way.  Letting your opponent get an EM doesn't make you lose any more electrum.

I don't play PvP very much.  I almost always lose.  What I don't like is the fact that it takes about 10 seconds for the computer to process your turn and send it to the opponent.  It's not that your opponent is thinking.  The card that the opponent draws doesn't show up until after 10 seconds.

10 seconds may not seem like much, but when it happens every turn, especially in a long game, it makes the game a nightmare.  I soon realize that I could be grinding 3 AI3's in this amount of time.  I finish the game, and stop playing PvP.

As for my views on quitting, I think it's not polite.  At least let your opponent have the experience of playing a human for the rest of the game.  It doesn't take very long, and it makes you seem more cultured.  I've never had anyone quit on me, and hopefully I never will.

Wow, how much pvp have you played? I get quitters fairly regularly.

Personally I try to stay through the match, but I know there have been times I've been a bad opponent and forgotten when you're playing a person you can't just go and do something else for five minutes. Not exactly Rage-quit but more like ADD quit.
