Maybe in future versions a function could be added that lets you offer some kind of surrender.. would stop you having to play on against an opponent who quits and would save everyone time :)

What I really hate is when an opponent, where he has like 20hp and he is poisonned for 50, quit on it's very last turn. This is stupid because he could just press 'space' and let me then press 'space' and it would then be over. But no, he quits, letting me wait a huge 70seconds while it could take 5seconds. I don't quit, even if I have completly no chances.

I quit PVP matches, too.

I try to be polite and end a turn when it's over next turn to not let my opponent loose too much time.

But when i see i got absolutely no chance after a few turn due to a horrible draw or an excellent draw on my opponent, i just quit. i send a message though, something like: "well done, i stand no chance. gz"

I usually don't quit because it would kind of rob the pleasure of finishing me and because it feels kind of odd to write "gg" and then leave.

However, I sometimes do quit because of a certain deck-type someone is using:

E.g., if I am playing a deck that has bad odds against a shrieker rush and I get a bad draw I may quit once I see that the opponent seems to be doing just fine. Playing a shrieker-deck is not very original and and I don't see a reason why I should watch that story once more.

Similarly, fractal-pest is inflationary in use currently and more than that: It's one hell of a slow deck when it comes to actually killing the oppo. I won't idly sit there doing nothing for 10 turns until Mr.Original finally draws his Eclipse and his drain lifes.

I usually quit when defeat is 95% certain, its not really worth my time to just fail miserably lose

besides once you leave the AI takes over in 10 seconds, not 70

False, because before it takes 10 seconds to the AI to take over, you have to wait the full opponent's timer (wich is 60 seconds)

When I'm loosing I just write gg and wait for my opponent to finish the game.

Quitters are annoying.

maybe if there was an "honor system" introduced where you only play people with the same honor as you, honor would be spilt into
0-10% left total
10-25% left total
25-50% left total
50 - 75% left total
75-100% left total

Should it be considered poor PvP etiquette if, on their last turn, somone plays their first damage dealer? This in effect "denies" the opposing player elemental mastery and quite a few electrum. Sure, many people might not be thinking about it in those terms, but I've always held back from destroying EM when I know I cannot win. I see this a lot when I use rush decks and it always feels like the ultimate in sour grapes to me, regardless if the opponent was aware of what s/he was doing.
This and the disconnecting people are the main reasons I hate to play PVP in this game. It's really lame and really unfair for all those players who want to play a normal fair game to the end.
It's also part of the nature of the game though. It's often very easy to determine who the winner will be early on, especially since PVP is mostly rush decks so mostly damage racing.

I am in favor of the honor system suggested by kiillsdazombies.  It would give people that want to finish a game that chance.

Also, rush deck users probably are less likely to quit.  Then rush deckers would be more likely to face other rush decks, which would present more of a challenge.

I like killsdazombie's idea. However, nobody's invulnerable to desyncs/crashing internets/freezing computers/laggy internet, so you should have 2-3 counters a day for quitting a game before the end, after which you lose honor. Otherwise, I like the idea of matching up with somebody of similar honor, but I would prefer it if you got matched up with somebody of similar score/win:loss.

Doesn't it already match you up with someone with similar score?  If it does, this new system wouldn't get rid of it.  However, this would limit the number of opponents you could play by adding another criterion.

Good point.  Adding counters seems fair to me.  Now, a lot of ideas are posted on the forums, but Zanz doesn't have the time to review all of them.  If we started a poll, we could have some data.  Then we could PM him and have a greater chance of getting this idea off the ground.
