I grinded for the gold, now what do I upgrade first?

Really enjoying elements!

So I've played a few hours and finally have 1500+ gold.   Is there really an "omg you need to upgrade this first"  for the a first upgrade?

From what I've read from the Rainbow Decks and other FG farming it looks like this may be some things to consider - but any feedback is welcome.
--Golden Hourglass -> Hourglass
--Quantum Pillar -> Quantum Tower
--Otyugh -> Elite Otyugh
--Nova -> Supernova

i would say hourglass first then Oty.

Hit all your Hourglasses with upgrades first; that would help. Next, take the Otyughs. Next, upgrade 3 of your Novas, switch mark to Entropy, then take the other 3. Then, hit your Fallen Elves, then your Pillars, then everything else.

From that list I'd choose Otyugh because you need a control solution when heading into gods and demigods. After that its definitly the Hourglass and any other key cards you might need like Fallen Druid. Then the Quantum Towers. Most other cards are the same mechanically but run more efficiently so the towers can make up that difference across the board whereas upgrading individual cards only benefits that card.

I would upgrade Hourglass.

Hourglass, hard to get those upped otys out when you keep running out of time quantum because your hourglasses take two.

Nope, upgraded hourglasses are extremely useful. Not only does it allow you to use hasten earlier, it also allows you to play more than one and USE more than one.
