A classification would probably be more meaningful if it found groups before naming them.

I would put shrieker as an insectoid. I always assumed that the time upgrade was as if to say the graboid went into a cocoon and came out a shrieker, just the time quanta allowed that to happen instantly. . .

Wyrm and cockatrice i would have thought were reptiles.

I would add a "construct" class (for want of a better word =/) for lava golem, charger (maybe? =S) gargoyle and voodoo doll.

Mutant? Experimental? I dunno. But abomination and chimera would fit in there.

Outsider (again, not convinced its the best word   ??? ) Maxwell's demon and the spirits.

If i could just think of another way to say 'elemental' because they obviously cant be that, id stick spark and photon in there. Theyre not creatures as much as just forces of nature :/

Hope this is helpful in some way XS

Corrections:
Graboid --> Shrieker, therefore if Graboid is an insectoid, so is a Shrieker.
Similarly, a Rustler is an unupped Leaf Dragon, and therefore a Rustler is a kind of Dragon.
Vampires, while not possessing the passive ability, are nonetheless Undead, as are Mummies, Skeletons, and Bone Dragons (which are also Dragons, of course.)
Cockatrice is a half-bird half-lizard, an entirely unnatural congolmerate, and is thus a Perversion (see below.)
The entire category of Machines is subsumed within the category of Constructs (see below).

New categories:

Undead:
Mummy
Skeleton
Vampire
Bone Dragon

Spirits:
Fire Spirit
Forest Spirit
Maxwell's Demon
Deja Vu
Spark
Fate Egg(??)

Perversions:
Abomination
Chimera
Mutants of all kinds
Otyugh
Cockatrice

Constructs:
Steam Machine
Armagio
Sapphire Charger
Gargoyle
Voodoo Doll

Cells:
Virus
Malignant Cell

Reptiles:
Wyrm  (could also be considered an offshoot Dragon.)
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Even if Cockatrice is half-bird and half-lizard, its a bird. Something already existed alike to this, check it here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeopteryx)

Spark and RoL are not really live beings. They are related to energy forms.

Virus is also not a real live being. It just has some live being characteristics when inside a cell of another being. Surely not a cell.

Otyugh looks like an alien. Have some humanoid characteristics, too. Its bipedal, has 2 arms and 2 legs, etc.

I agree about Wyrm being a type of Dragon.

Charger looks a mammal using a strange armor, just this.

Really Im not sure about Gargoyle.

Fate Egg, a spirit? Lol, no. Just an Egg of unknown origin ;)

All D&D-based monsters be excluded. Ulitharid, Otyugh, and any others.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

I don't know why, but I got pumped up by this topic. :) Maybe it's the coffee I just drank. Anyways, this is an interesting (although slightly nerdy) discussion that I will be following closely.

Also, Physalia/Chryasora are definitively jellyfish, not mollusks.
