Order of Upgrading? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=7684.msg85799#msg85799

I'm sort of new to this game, and I've recently started making enough money to upgrade but... What order should I be upgrading in?
I'm not talking about specifically in my deck, but is there a rule of thumb to upgrading?

Umm, my deck is kind of a mix between mainly entropy and water cause it's a Nymph Tear/Antimatter deck. So basically, it's amethyst pillars, novas, nymph tears, quintessences, sapphire pillars, and obsidian pillars.

Nymphomania?  Novas sounds like a good bet, as the upped version will make a BIG difference to your deck.

You can also use them, later on, in a FG Entropy Rainbow Deck!

I would upgrade first:
- Cards which have a different effect, when upgraded,
- Upgrades which allow you to use a card in more decks,
- Cards which have a big improvement, when upgraded.

My favorites:

Flying Weapon: You can make decks with flying weapons in every mono/duo deck.
Otyugh: Big change of HP, you can eat more creatures
Fallen Elf: Big improvement of the mutations. Useful in a FG Rainbow deck.
Hourglass: Big improvement.
Nova: More quanta, useful in a FG rainbow
Shards: Only useful when upgraded, shards improve your winning chances in many decks, I often use them.
Sundial: No time quanta needed, you can use it in every deck, if you want.
Photons: Light deck with Hope
Plate armor: Big improvement, but you need a  good deck to use it. Rainbow decks use quintessence, so they often don´t use this card.
Phoenix: Fire Speed deck
Ice Shield, Jade Shield: The +1 damage blocked can make a big difference, if the enemy attacks with small creatures(e.g Fireflies, Skeletons)
Dissipation Shield: If you want to use it in a rainbow deck, you can´t use the unupgraded version (only litte use)
Purify: Big improvement of the card, but nobody uses it.

Pillars: many people upgrade them, to make their deck completely upgraded. Advantage: you can use the upgraded Quantum Tower in many decks.

When you have a choice to either upgrade a card to lower it's cost by 1 (eg. eternity) or to upgrade a pillar, it's usually better to upgrade pillars first. This way you get a choice what to spend that single quantum on (you might play some other card with it instead), and it might even allow you to play some cards first turn.

Of course that advice works only in non-rainbow decks and does not apply to cards you splash for with your mark ;)
Cards that are good in splash decks (ie. powered with your mark only) include deflagration, protect artifact, lightning, rewind, earthquake and similar cheap spells. These might be worth upgrading before you start upgrading their corresponding pillars.
May the force of the D4HK side be with U ^_^

In my opinion, Dragons should be among the last cards you upgrade.  Most of them get MORE expensive when upped, and that's the last thing you need in an only half upped deck.  Also, the upped version of Dragons don't do anything special that will make a significant improvement (as opposed to Oty, Druid, Hourglass, etc. which will have a very noticeable impact on your play).  I think the one exception is gravity's Massive Dragon, which receives enough of a health boost (from 12 to 30) to merit the cost.

There are many reasons to upgrade different cards, however, as the OP is running a nymph deck, and wishes to upgrade cards within that deck, go NOVAS  :P
