Does the shield also block the poison when it blocks all the Arsenic damages?

Ex: Arsenic(no upgraded) 2 damages + 1 poison

      NO shield                          => 2 damages & 1 poison
      SkullShield        (DEF 1)     => 1 damage & 1 poison
      TitaniumShield  (DEF 2)     => 0 damage & 0 poison?

Poison only works on a successful attack. 0 damage does not count as an attack, sadly.
