No.
The game as of now doesn't have an ongoing opponent's turn, it just packages the turn into one thing and replays it to you. Because of this, playing cards on your opponent's turn will affect what the game actually made his turn, causing inevitable desyncs.
I just wouldn't work.

The problem is, it would require a complete remake of the turn system.
Every time you are able to play a card on your opponent's turn, the game would have to stop and prompt you and ask whether you want to or not.
This would be annoying after a while, make things much slower, and completely screw over the PvP system.
It would also require a HUGE rework in the base coding of the game.
Although not impossible, there's more downsides than there are upsides, so this is a definite no atm.

EvaRia never said it was impossible, it just requires a complete rewrite of the game code. I'd assume that MTG online was initially developed with that feature in mind.

What about Neurotoxin? The poison increases based on your opponent's turn. In a certain way Shields effect your opponent's turn, too. Not sure if I'm entirely missing the point now though :P

Probably he means that when your opponent performs a certain action, it prompts you into whether you want to throw out an instant, direct counter, or wait to use it for later.
For example, your opponent plays a creature, you have a quickplay spell that can reverse time it or something, it asks you if you want to use it, and for every single creature your opponent plays, you have to keep saying no, or use it.
This would require a rework to the game, so I say it's not going to work at the moment.

Uhm, that + pvp = desync? It's the first response that comes to my mind.

he asked me this in pm and i told him the same thing. pvp = desynch..

The best way to do anything during an opponents turn exists already.
Shields, Graveyard, sundials, etc. things just need to be triggered by opponents plays to "play on their turn"
Granted its not MTG where counterspell is a big thing but we could still do things on their turn.

I randomly thought of a card idea during the response to him about this.
a card that when the opponent draws any card outside the draw step they take 5 damage.. or something like that. im sure plenty of ideas could spawn from thinking more about trigger effects on their turn.
